In this apparatus, the grinding process is retrofitted to deposit coatings onto substrates that range from soft (e.g., polymers and aluminium) to hard (e.g., glass-ceramic) materials. The apparatus comprises a sample holder, an infeed, and a grinding wheel. The sample holder holds a substrate to be coated with swarf particles. The infeed holding a work piece. The grinding wheel is mounted at a predefined height over the infeed. The apparatus is used to perform metal coating by depositing the swarf materials on surface of the substrate. It may be noted that the swarf materials are generated by grinding the work piece with the grinding wheel.

The invention therefore relates to a device for the layered manufacturer of a product based on a powder, in particular a metal powder. This device is fitted with a build chamber with a vertically movable build platform on which said product is manufactured and contains a powder dispenser for application of the successive powder layers on the build platform in a horizontal build surface. The powder dispenser can be moved back and forth over the build surface along a horizontal dispensing direction in order to apply said powder layers. Moreover, the device contains a hopper that must contain said powder in order to supply powder to the powder dispenser. This hopper has a bottom with a dosing opening that lets out into the build chamber and that works in combination with a dosing valve. More specifically, the dosing valve enables a measured quantity of powder to flow out of the hopper.

An electrostatic atomizing coating apparatus and method incorporate a rotary head having a base portion, an open end and a plurality of grooves formed radially on an inner peripheral surface of the open end, an inside diameter of the rotary head increasing from the base portion toward the open end, and a motor configured to rotate the rotary head to discharge a thread-shaped paint. A voltage is applied to the rotary head so as to form an electrostatic field between the open end of the rotary head and an earthed coating target and to electrostatically atomize the thread-shaped paint discharged from the open end. Voltage output from the generator is controlled so as to adjust an intensity of the electrostatic field and to control a particle diameter of the electrostatically atomized thread-shaped paint.

The agitator assembly includes a drive gear driven by the drive element of the feed auger and an elongated agitator element including at least two elongate bars and a plurality of angled crossbars connecting the two elongate bars. The agitator element rotates to assist with flow of talc into the trough so that the feed auger can move the talc to the other agricultural equipment. The talc applicator may also be provided with a hydraulic motor and a flexible flighting in the feed auger.
