The primer paint and the finish paint are baked and dried to form a coating.

Modification method of surface of base, composition, and polymer

A modification method of a surface of a base includes applying a composition on a surface layer of a base to form a coating film. The surface layer contains a metal atom. The coating is heated. The composition contains a polymer and a solvent. The polymer includes at an end of a main chain or at an end of a side chain thereof, a functional group that is at least one selected from: a group represented by the following formula (1); a group containing a carbon-carbon triple bond; and a group containing an aromatic hydroxy group. In the formula (1), R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a monovalent organic group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms; and n is an integer of 1 to 10, wherein in a case in which n is no less than 2, a plurality of R.sup.1s are identical or different. ##STR00001##

A wiper system configured to apply and wipe one or more coatings on a rigid tube includes a tapered wiper tapering between a wider end defining an inlet orifice and a narrower end defining an exit orifice. The narrower end of the tapered wiper includes a series of slits arranged circumferentially around the exit orifice. The slits define a series of resilient tabs configured to deflect radially outward when contacted by one or more formations on an outer surface of the rigid tube and configured to return to a neutral position when the one or more formations have passed through the exit orifice. The wiper system may also include a gimbal supporting the tapered wiper. The gimbal is configured to permit the tapered wiper to rotate about first and second mutually perpendicular axes when the tapered wiper is contacted by a bowed rigid tube.

A coating composition for application to a component or structure has cellulose acetate, a plasticizer with an antioxidant, a corrosion inhibitor with an antioxidant, a vegetable oil, and a stabilizer. The plasticizer is linseed oil. The corrosion inhibitor is canola oil. The vegetable oil is epoxidized soybean oil. The stabilizer is titanium dioxide. These components are intimately mixed together so as to form a solid mixture. The solid mixture is converted into a solid state and applied to the component or structure. The liquid state is then dried on the component or structure for a period of time.

Method for coating pipe with acid-curable resin and acid curing agent

In the coating method, a pipe for transporting oil and/or gas mined from underground is provided. An acid curable resin is passed through the pipe to adhere the acid curable resin to at least a part of an inner wall of the pipe. Then, an acid curing agent is passed through the pipe to allow the acid curing agent to make contact with the acid curable resin such that the acid curable resin is cured.

Method of 3D printing plastic molding compound on foil ply

A method for producing a molded body having the following steps: a) providing a foil ply; b) applying a plastic molding compound in a predefined three-dimensional shape onto the foil ply by means of a three-dimensional printing method.

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR COATING A METAL STRIP

A method and a device for coating a metal strip with a coating material that is still liquid at first. During the coating, the coated metal strip runs through a roller pair. One of the rollers of the roller pair can be adjusted toward the other as a correction roller in order to eliminate a possible curvature of the metal strip. Then the metal strip runs through a blow-off apparatus for blowing off surplus coating. In order to prevent an uneven thickness distribution of the coating on the metal strip even when the correction roller of the roller pair has been adjusted, the actual position of the metal strip is controlled to a specified setpoint center position in the slot of the blow-off apparatus by an appropriate movement of the blow-off apparatus.
