SUBMERGED COATING REPAIR OF POTABLE WATER SYSTEMS
20180085779 · 2018-03-29 ·

Systems and methods for safely repairing potable water tanks when submerged within a tank. Several barriers are used to separate the coating material after application to the area of the tank needing repair from the potable water. The barrier may be shield structure defining a cavity and having an aperture and valve for injecting the coating material into the cavity, or the barrier may be a sheet preloaded with coating material and stored within and delivered via a transfer shield, or the barrier may be a continuous sheet delivered over the top of the coating material at the same time it is applied. The barrier layer, be it a shield structure sheet or continuous sheet, becomes adhered to the substrate being repaired so post cure removal is not required.

Process for applying adhesive to interior wall of a hole utilizing a nozzle
09925558 · 2018-03-27 · ·

A nozzle for applying a fluid material to an object includes a tubular wall with several circumferentially spaced ribs that extend outward from the tubular wall to engage an object to which the fluid material is to be applied. The ribs space the tubular wall from the inner wall to provide a gap for the fluid material and aligning the tubular wall with the hole in the object. The tubular wall provides at least one opening between adjacent pairs of ribs for the fluid material to flow into the gap. A sealing surface on the nozzle engages a portion of the object preventing escape of the fluid from the gap. In a process for using the nozzle, a user manually detects equilibrium between the pressure applied to the fluid in the nozzle and the pressure in the nozzle to determine when the gap has been filled.

This application concerns a tool for coating a monolithic shaped catalyst. The tool is part of a coating station and serves to hold and fix the monolith while coating is progressing.

New dipping former for producing elastic articles
20180056552 · 2018-03-01 ·

A former assembly for the manufacture of dip product, the assembly comprising: a thermally conductive outer layer in the shape of said product, said outer layer arranged to receive a film of elastomer; a mounting for mounting said former assembly to a former holder for engagement with a conveyor chain; a heating medium within said outer layer, said heating medium in communication with an energy source for heating said medium; wherein said heating medium arranged to apply heat through said outer layer so as to cure said resin.

Coating compositions for aluminum beverage cans and methods of coating same

A coating composition for a food or beverage can that includes an emulsion polymerized latex polymer formed by combining an ethylenically unsaturated monomer component with an aqueous dispersion of a water-dispersible polymer.

APPLICATOR TOOLS, METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR COATING A BORE

An applicator tool for coating a bore includes a tubular body and an inflatable bladder. The tubular body includes a proximal end and a distal end opposing the proximal end along a longitudinal axis. The tubular body also includes an expansion portion proximate the distal end and an internal volume in relation to the expansion portion. The inflatable bladder disposed within the internal volume of the tubular body in relation to the expansion portion. A method for coating a bore includes inserting an expansion portion of an applicator tool into the bore. A coating material having been previously disposed on the expansion portion. The method also includes applying a pressurized fluid to the applicator tool to expand the expansion portion within the bore and rotating the applicator tool to apply the coating material from the expansion portion to the bore. A system that includes the applicator tool is also disclosed.

Method of manufacturing food casings with modified adhesion and release properties

Manufacturing a multilayer tubular fibrous reinforced food casing having a tubular fibrous web located between an inside viscose regenerated cellulose layer and an outside viscose regenerated cellulose layer includes injecting a peeling agent in an outside viscose stream, injecting an adhesion promoter in an inside viscose stream, and impregnating the tubular fibrous web with viscose by applying the inside viscose stream to an inside surface of the fibrous web and applying the outside viscose stream to an outside surface of the fibrous web.

Method for adjusting pore size of porous metal material and pore structure of porous metal material

Disclosed are a method for adjusting the pore size of a porous metal material and the pore structure of a porous metal material. The method comprises: permeating at least one element into the surface of the pores of the material to generate a permeated layer on the surface of the pores, so that the average pore size of the porous material is reduced to within a certain range, thus obtaining a pore structure of the porous metal material having the pores distributed on the surface of the material and the permeated layer provided on the surface of the pores.

Coating Reinforcement Application and Method
20170066008 · 2017-03-09 ·

A method for applying a polymer to a substrate having a first surface and a second surface (such as an inside surface and outside surface). One or more apertures are provided through the substrate, with the apertures linking the first and second surfaces. A polymer coating is applied to the first and second surfaces, with some of the polymer coating flowing into and remaining within the aperture(s). The polymer coating within the aperture(s) serves to link the polymer coating covering the first surface and the polymer coating covering the second surface. The invention also encompasses coated objects made using the inventive method.

DEVICE FOR INSERTING A PLUGGING COMPOUND INTO AN OPENING
20170066006 · 2017-03-09 ·

A device (1) for introducing a plugging compound (20) into a borehole (21), the device having a sleeve (2) with a cavity (3) for receiving the plugging compound (20). On one side, the sleeve (2) has a discharge opening (5), corresponding to the cavity (3), for discharging the plugging compound (20), and a support section (7), projecting laterally from the sleeve, for providing a support option for the sleeve (2) during introduction of the plugging compound (20). On the opposite side of the sleeve (2), an upper opening (4) is provided, through which a piston (16) together with a feed plate (18) protrudes into the cavity (3). The piston (16) is movable relative to the sleeve (2) in such a way that the feed plate (18) can be displaced in the cavity (3), for example to allow the plugging compound (20) to be received and dispensed.
