The component comprises a thermoplastic polymeric material, and can include or be made to have a textured surface.
Antifouling article
The present embodiments relate to an antifouling article comprising polyurethane and medetomidine, or an enantiomer or salt thereof, from 0.1% by weight of the antifouling article and present in a polymer matrix of the polyurethane.
Method for producing insulated pipes
Described herein is a process for producing insulated pipes including providing a media pipe and a film hose continuously formed from a film or a media pipe and a jacketing pipe, wherein the media pipe is arranged inside the film hose or the jacketing pipe and a slot is formed between the media pipe and the film hose or jacketing pipe, wherein an adhesion promoter is applied to the surface of the media pipe facing the film hose or the jacketing pipe, introducing a polyurethane system at least including an isocyanate component (a) including at least one isocyanate, a polyol component (b), and at least one catalyst into the slot before the adhesion promoter is fully cured, and foaming and curing the polyurethane system. Also described herein are insulated pipes obtainable or obtained by such a process.
Using a polyol mixture comprising PBD for creating a PU-based artificial turf
A method of manufacturing an artificial turf includes creating fluid polyurethane mass. The creation including reacting first and second polyols with an isocyanate. The first polyol is a polyether polyol and/or a polyester polyol having at least 2 hydroxyl groups per molecule, the second polyol being polybutadien diol. The isocyanate including isocyanate monomers, isocyanate polymers or isocyanate prepolymers or a mixture thereof, the isocyanate monomers, isocyanate polymers and the isocyanate prepolymers having two or more isocyanate groups per molecule. The method further includes incorporating an artificial turf fiber into a carrier such that a first portion of the fiber protrudes to the front side of the carrier and that a second portion of the fiber is located at the back side of the carrier, adding the fluid polyurethane mass on the back side of the carrier, and hardening the fluid polyurethane mass.
Water repellent coating film and product provided with same
Provided is a water repellent coating film, including: an undercoat layer formed on a surface of a base material and containing: at least one type of spherical particles having an average particle diameter of 2 μm or more and 50 μm or less and selected from the group consisting of spherical molten silica particles, spherical molten alumina particles, and spherical silicone resin particles; and an underlying resin; and a topcoat layer formed on the undercoat layer and containing: inorganic fine particles having an average particle diameter of 2 nm or more and 20 nm or less; and a water repellent resin. The underlying resin is preferably a polyurethane resin or a fluororesin. The water repellent resin is preferably a fluororesin or a silicone resin.
Method for forming multilayer coating film
Provided is a method for forming a multilayer coating film, the method being capable of forming a multilayer coating film having excellent chipping resistance, adhesion, and finished appearance. The method for forming a coating film uses a 3-coat and 1-bake system in which a three-layered multilayer coating film obtained by sequentially applying a first coloring paint (X), a second coloring paint (Y), and a clear coating paint (Z) onto an object to be coated is heated and cured at the same time, wherein the first coloring paint (X) and the second coloring paint (Y) contain a hydroxyl group-containing resin, and the clear coating paint (Z) contains a hydroxyl group-containing acrylic resin (a) and an aliphatic triisocyanate compound (b1) having a molecular weight within a specific range.
STRUCTURALLY-COLORED ARTICLES AND METHODS FOR MAKING AND USING STRUCTURALLY-COLORED ARTICLES
One or more aspects of the present disclosure provide articles of manufacture and components of articles that incorporate an optical element that imparts a structural color to the component or the article. The component comprises a thermoplastic polymeric material, and can include or be made to have a textured surface.
DIGITALLY PRINTED AND PRODUCED HEAT TRANSFER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
A process for producing a digital printed heat transfer, the process comprising the steps of: 1) obtaining a substrate having a release layer; 2) applying a primer suitable for electrophotographic toner to the release layer; 3) digitally-printing electrophotographic toner to define a graphic within a defined region of a substrate inclusive of both printed and unprinted areas within that region; 4) digitally printing a tacky viscoelastic binder in registration with the printed areas of the digitally-printed graphic; 5) applying a polyurethane-based powder adhesive to the defined region of said substrate; 6) removing loose powder adhesive that does not adhere to the defined regions of said graphic; and 7) fusing and bonding the adhesive to the digital printed graphic. The binder precisely secures the adhesive powder to the printed graphical areas. The result is then cooled to set the image for use as a heat transfer.
Aluminum surface treatment method to increase adhesion with polyurethane coating
A method for improvement of adhesion and distribution along the surface of coatings using a femtosecond laser is described. The process starts from chemical preparation or cleaning of the target material, surface predetermination, laser irradiation of the surface until a certain surface geometry is obtained, which gives the surface improved wetting properties and chemical surface activation which results in improved adhesion of the coatings on the target material surface. The surface geometries and dimensions to be obtained during irradiation are selected according to the properties of the coating and target material, including the laser parameters and/or the environment to obtain the desired surface geometry, considering possible geometry errors without compromising essential adhesion.
Hydrophobic automobile rubber seal strip flocking belt and preparation method thereof
The present invention discloses a hydrophobic automobile rubber seal strip flocking belt and a preparation method thereof, wherein the flocking belt comprises a flocking belt film, flocking belt glue, villi and flocking paint; the flocking glue is roller-coated or sprayed on the flocking film to form a flocking glue layer; and the villi is implanted on the flocking glue layer by high voltage static electricity in electrostatic chamber. The flocking coating is roller-coated or sprayed on the villi to form a flocking coating which comprises fluorosilicone modified waterborne polyurethane resin, polyurethane modified acrylic emulsion, organic molybdenum, organic silicon, curing agent and solvent. Accordingly, the preparation method includes such steps as film forming, glue applying, electrostatic flocking, flocking curing, spraying or roller-coating, and coating curing, etc. The flocking belt described in the present invention is installed in a guide groove of the automobile glass, which is enabled to solve the problem of abnormal noise caused by rising and falling of glass of automobile windows. In addition, the flocking coating feels soft and smooth.
