Vacuum Plate and Vacuum System
20200113396 · 2020-04-16 ·

A plate system converts a wheelbarrow to a receptacle for a vacuum device. The plate system includes a vacuum plate body, an intake port, an exhaust port, and a vacuum pump mounted to the vacuum plate body. The vacuum plate body has an upper surface, a lower surface, and a resilient gasket on the lower surface of the vacuum plate body around a perimeter of the vacuum plate body to form a seal between the upper perimeter of the wheelbarrow body and the lower surface of the vacuum plate body when the vacuum plate system is on the wheelbarrow body. The resilient gasket covers an area of the lower surface of the vacuum plate body sufficient to fit over the upper perimeter of a plurality of wheelbarrows having open bodies in a range of sizes.

A vacuum plate converts a conventional wheelbarrow into a wet and dry dual purpose vacuum cleaner receptacle. Collection of fluids and solids directly into a wheelbarrow simplifies larger cleaning tasks, small flood remediation, transport of bulk particulate materials such as sand, pea stone, and mulch, and allows hydro-excavation to be carried out in home improvement and small scale professional landscaping projects. A fluid level sensor prevents the wheelbarrow from overflowing when collecting large quantities of fluid, and a sump pump allows fluids to be drained from collected slurries, leaving only solids in the wheelbarrow for reuse or independent disposal.

Extraplanetary tool cleaner

An equipment cleaning apparatus for an extraplanetary environment includes a cleaner vessel positioned at an exterior of an extraplanetary habitat, and an exterior hatch located outside of the extraplanetary habitat and allowing access to an interior of the cleaner vessel. The cleaning apparatus is operable in one or more cleaning cycles to clean equipment located in the cleaner vessel. A method of cleaning equipment in an extraplanetary environment includes providing a cleaner vessel at an extraplanetary habitat, placing one or more articles of equipment into an interior of the cleaner vessel through an exterior hatch located outside of the extraplanetary habitat, closing the exterior hatch, and operating one or more cleaning cycles on the equipment in the cleaner vessel.

A fume hood control system includes a fume food. The fume hood includes a first baffle, a sash and a hood enclosure positioned within an environment. The hood enclosure includes a plurality of sidewalls forming a work chamber, a first aperture configured to permit an airflow between the environment and the work chamber, and a second aperture configured to permit the airflow between the work chamber. The sash is configured to at least partially cover the first aperture. The first baffle is configured to direct a path of the airflow within the work chamber. The first baffle is transitionable between a first number of positions. The fume hood control system includes a controller configured to determine, via a sash sensor, a current position of the sash. The controller is further configured to determine, via a baffle position sensor, a current position of the first baffle. The controller is further configured to control the operation of the first baffle to transition between the current position of the first baffle and an updated position of the first baffle in response to the current position of the sash, the current position of the first baffle, and one or more pressure measurements.
