Cladding tube for nuclear fuel rod, method and apparatus for manufacturing a cladding
A cladding tube for nuclear fuel made from metal and including concave dimples on its external surface. A nuclear fuel assembly includes at least a plurality of nuclear fuel rods provided with such cladding tubes. The cladding tube is advantageously manufactured by pilgrim rolling, the dimples being formed during the pilgrim rolling.
STEEL-VANADIUM ALLOY CLADDING FOR FUEL ELEMENT
This disclosure describes various configurations and components for bimetallic and trimetallic claddings for use as a wall element separating nuclear material from an external environment. The cladding materials are suitable for use as cladding for nuclear fuel elements, particularly for fuel elements that will be exposed to sodium or other coolants or environments with a propensity to react with the nuclear fuel.
PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A HIGH-GRADE STEEL TUBE AND HIGH-GRADE STEEL TUBE
A process for producing a high-grade steel tube includes the steps of: providing a tubular blank of an austenitic high-grade steel, wherein the high-grade steel comprises in weight % no more than 0.02% carbon, no more than 1.0% manganese, no more than 0.03% phosphor, no more than 0.015% sulfur, no more than 0.8% silicon, no more than 17.5% t to 18.5% nickel, no more than 19.5% to 20.5% chromium, no more than 6.0% to 6.5% molybdenum, no more than 0.18% to 0.25% nitrogen, no more than 0.5% to 1.0% copper, and a remainder of iron and unavoidable impurities; and cold-forming the blank into a tube.
Apparatus having a plurality of cold rolling installations
An apparatus is disclosed having a plurality of cold rolling installations which each have a roll stand movable along a linear path and having at least one roll which is fixed rotatably to the roll stand, a drive connected to the roll stand and having an electric motor so adapted that the roll stand is drivable in an oscillating movement along the linear path, and a feed clamping saddle for feeding a blank. The apparatus has an electric control having at least two control outputs, wherein each control output is connected to the electric motor of the drive of a roll stand and wherein the control is so adapted that in operation of the apparatus it so controls the electric motors that they drive at least two of the roll stands with an adjustable phase displacement between the oscillating movements of the roll stands.

Methods for Creating a Zinc-Metal Oxide Layer in Metal Components for Corrosion Resistance
The present invention provides a method for manufacturing a finished metal object or product having a corrosion resistant layer integral to or within a top portion of at least one of its surfaces that would be exposed to a corrosive environment. In one embodiment, the method for manufacturing is directed to a finished metal tubing product having a corrosion resistant layer within its inside surface that is exposed to a fluid and wherein the corrosion resistant layer is a zinc-metal oxide layer, such as a zinc-chromium oxide layer, or a zinc-mixed metal oxide layer. In addition to methods of manufacturing, the present invention provides finished metal objects or products having a corrosion resistant layer integral to or within a top portion of at least one surfaces that would be exposed to a corrosive environment.

Adhesive bond using different adhesives
A method for adhesively bonding shaped elements made from wood-based materials to flexible film substrates, in which i) the side that is to be bonded is mechanically processed, ii) a reactive one- or two-component polyurethane adhesive is applied to the center regions of this side, iii) an aqueous adhesive based on EVA, PVAc, PVOH is applied at least to the outer region of this side, and iv) this side is bonded to a flexible substrate as an edge coating.
Fastener, driver bit and punch tool
A fastener includes a screw head and a screw shank. The screw head has a top surface and an inner surrounding surface. The inner surrounding surface has six curved portions and six driven portions disposed in an alternating arrangement. Each of the driven portions has a curved section connected to one of two adjacent curved portions and having a direction of curvature opposite to that of the one of the two adjacent curved portions, a straight section extending along a tangent line of an end of the curved section, and an extension section connected between the straight section and the other one of the two adjacent curved portions.
Pilger rolling mill with a crank drive
A pilger rolling mill with a roll stand moves linearly back and forth along a movement direction and includes a crank mechanism having a rotatably supported crankshaft with a crank pin and push rod. A first end of the push rod is pivotably fastened to the crank pin and a second end is pivotably fastened to the roll stand, so that during operation of the pilger rolling mill a rotary movement of the crankshaft is converted into an oscillating movement of the roll stand along the movement direction. A compensation shaft is rotatably supported about an axis of rotation and includes a distribution of mass that is not rotationally symmetrical relative to its axis of rotation and a counter-mass. The crankshaft and the compensation shaft are connected to one another by a transmission so that a rotation of the crankshaft leads to a rotation of the compensation shaft.
