A toy apparatus for a horse to play with when kept in a stall of a stable. The toy apparatus includes an elongated rod member, a base frame member to support the elongated rod member on the stall, and a connection system to pivotally connect the elongated rod member to the base frame member in a manner such that, when the toy apparatus is in an installation position on the stall, the elongated rod member is to project into the stall for engagement by the horse which causes the elongated rod member to pivot relative to the base frame member.

Apparatus for Assisting the Forward Movement of Livestock
20220192156 · 2022-06-23 ·

An apparatus for assisting the forward movement of animals in a livestock alleyway includes a pivot structure, an actuator and an arm assembly. The pivot structure is rotatably mounted to the alleyway. The actuator connects between the alleyway and the pivot structure for rotating the pivot structure between first and second positions. The arm assembly is pivotably mounted to the pivot structure for rotation between a first extended position and a second retracted position. The arm assembly is biased toward the first extended position and is able to extend and retract in a telescoping fashion. The pivot structure and the arm assembly are arranged for positioning above livestock animals in the alleyway and yet also for pivoting from such a retracted position to a position for urging the forward movement of a livestock animal without interfering with an animal that may be positioned under the apparatus.

Breeding system for crawling insects

The present invention relates to a breeding system for the breeding of crawling insects, comprising a drum, a shuffling device and a feeding device. The drum comprises at least one wall, defining a drum interior, to house the insects, and the shuffling device is arranged at least partially in the drum interior, to shuffle the insects. The feeding device id configured to feed nutrients into the drum interior. The system comprises a cooling device having a cooling fluid circuit that is, by means of a flow of coolant in the circuit, configured to withdraw heat from the drum interior. The invention further relates to a protein production system, for the on-site production of protein-rich insect larvae as animal feed, and to a method for the breeding of crawling insects, comprising the step of cooling the insects in the interior of the drum with a cooling device.

Piezoelectric sensor assembly and integrated base

A base for supporting a piezoelectric sensor which includes a generally planar support frame having an opening and a housing mounted in the opening. The housing has an upper portion including a sensor and a lower portion including a biasing member in contact with the sensor. The sensor is biased by the biasing force of the biasing member against the upper portion of the housing, whereby the upper portion is in turn biased by the biasing force against a floor of a cage positioned on the upper side of the support frame.

Temperature Controlled Pet Bed System
20220174908 · 2022-06-09 ·

A temperature-controlled pet bed system includes an electrically powered cooling unit. The cooling unit has a compressor, a condenser, a refrigerant metering device, and an evaporator that are fluidly coupled together to allow a refrigerant to flow through the cooling unit in a refrigeration cycle. A pet bed assembly of the system is configured to rest upon a support surface. The pet bed assembly has an upper bed pad containing or being configured to contain a heat sink liquid to facilitate dissipation of heat and/or cold within the upper bed pad to avoid concentrated areas of hot and/or cold from forming on the upper bed pad. The pet bed assembly further includes a lower bed support that supports the upper bed pad. The lower bed support contains the evaporator of the cooling unit. The evaporator is positioned adjacent to and below the upper bed pad so that heat is transferred between the upper bed pad and the evaporator to facilitate cooling of the upper bed pad.

Horse training apparatus and methods

Apparatus for training horses includes a housing including a lower section under an upper section, the lower section configured with a stall for confining a horse and having opposed sides, and the upper section including a tank for loose granular material and configured with a hopper proximate to each of the sides, the hoppers concurrently openable for releasing the loose granular material into the lower section from above the stall along the respective sides for sufficiently filling the stall with the loose granular material for covering at least a portion of the horse.

Vehicle, ventilation system, and method for transporting pets
11337404 · 2022-05-24 · ·

A vehicle includes a passenger cabin, a monument, a pet travel system, and a ventilation system. The pet travel system includes at least a portion of the monument and at least one pet storage module configured to be received in the portion of the monument. The ventilation system includes an inlet port defined in the at least one pet storage module, an exhaust port defined in the at least one pet storage module, and an exhaust duct. The inlet port is in flow communication with an air source outside of the pet travel system. The exhaust duct is in flow communication with the exhaust port. The pressure within the exhaust duct is lower than the pressure of the air source to cause air to flow from the air source through the at least one pet storage module from the inlet port to the exhaust port.

System and method for securing calf hutches
11737423 · 2023-08-29 · ·

A securement system for securing one or more calf hutches is provided. The securement system includes latch assemblies and a line. The latch assemblies are configured to be attached to the calf hutches and comprise receiver flanges and latch arms. Each receiver flange includes a vertically-extending plate defining a locking slot with an open end. Each latch arm may be shifted between a closed position in which it blocks the open end of the locking slot and an open position in which it does not block the open end of the locking slot. Each latch arm is biased to the closed position.

Animal house ceiling vent seal

A ceiling vent assembly has a frame that is open at its top and bottom and a pair of louvers pivotably mounted in the frame such that each louver pivots between an open position and a closed position relative to the frame. Each louver has a pivot end, wherein the pivot end is located adjacent to but spaced apart from the pivot end of a second louver of the pair of louvers. The ceiling vent assembly has a sealing mechanism with a flange extending from the pivot end of each louver of the pair of louvers, wherein the flange from the first louver contacts the flange from the second louver in a space between the louvers such that the sealing mechanism reduces the flow of air through the space when the first and second louvers are in either the open or closed positions.
