Machine and method for processing a continuous semi-processed product
A machine for processing a continuous semi- processed product (W), comprising a feeding unit (10), a processing unit (21, 22, 23), and a terminal cutting unit (30) past which processed segments (M) of the semi-processed product (W) are producible, which width (LI, L2, L3) is correlated to the feed step. The feeding unit (10) is automatically adjustable in the feed step. The machine further comprises actuators (21a, 22a, 23a) configured to adjust the position of the processing unit along the feed direction (A) of the semi-processed product (W), and a control system (40) configured to read input instructions relating to a series of consecutive segments to be produced, determine the required position of the processing unit (21, 22, 23) as a function of the input instructions, and determine the required feed step as a function of the input instructions.

Tracking metallic wires during a winding operation
Methods, apparatus, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for tracking amounts of wires provided to a winding head during a winding operation of a wire distribution system. The wires can be tracked using one or more wire tracking devices that can be disposed at one or more locations within the wire distribution system. The wire tracking devices can provide information related to the amounts of wires and the types of wires being used to wind about a winding head/form. The information can be used to check for errors during a winding operation and indicate the progress of the winding operation. The information can also be used to update wire-availability data to reflect the amount of wire that has been provided during the winding operation.
Conveyer
A conveyer equipped with rotating discs rotatable around axes thereof relative to a mounting base. Each of the rotating discs has grooves in which rectangular wires are receivable. When an upstream and a downstream one of the rotating disc are arranged in a given angular relation to each other, one of the grooves of the upstream rotating disc is aligned with that of the downstream rotating disc to pass the rectangular wire from the upstream rotating disc to the downstream rotating disc. Upon such passing of the rectangular wire, the grooves of the upstream and downstream rotating discs hold or clamp all side surfaces of the rectangular wire, thereby ensuring the stability in retaining the rectangular wire when passed from one to another of the rotating discs, which enables the conveyer to carry the rectangular wires at high speeds.
Binding machine
A reinforcing bar binding machine includes a first movable gripping member that is displaced in a direction to come in contact with and separate from one side of a fixed gripping member. A second movable gripping member is displaced in a direction to come in contact with and separate from the other side of the fixed gripping member; and a bending portion brings the first movable gripping member and the second movable gripping member into and out of contact with the fixed gripping member. The fixed gripping member includes a shaft that rotatably supports the first movable gripping member and the second movable gripping member. In addition, the bending portion includes an opening and closing pin that pushes an opening and closing guide hole provided in the first movable gripping member and an opening and closing guide hole provided in the second movable gripping member.
