Method for Producing a Component Having a Core Portion Which Consists of Steel
The invention sets out a method for simply producing components which are suitable for use under high loads and risks of wear and which have a core portion which consists of a metal material and a wear-resistant layer on a peripheral surface of the core portion. To this end, there is provided according to the invention a) a core portion blank which consists of the metal material and whose dimension in a first spatial direction is greater than the desired finished dimension of the core portion of the component in the relevant spatial direction and whose dimension in a second spatial direction is smaller than the desired finished dimension of the core portion of the component in this second spatial direction; b) there is applied a material which forms the wear-resistant layer to the peripheral surface in such a manner that the material and the core portion blank form a stable composite body; and c) the composite body is shaped to form the component by the composite body being extended in the direction of the second spatial direction and being compressed in the direction of the first spatial direction until the dimensions thereof in the spatial directions at least correspond to the desired finished dimensions of the component in these spatial directions and the wear-resistant material is present on a peripheral surface of the component. Optionally, finishing processing of the component may follow.
PLIERS
A pliers includes a first member and a second member pivotally coupled to the first member. The first member and the second member each include a head and a handle having a recessed area with a non-circular cross-sectional shape and an exposed end portion adjacent the recessed area. The recessed area is bounded by a forward lip and a rear lip. The forward lip has a cross-sectional area not greater than a cross-sectional area of a portion of the handle adjacent the forward lip and opposite the recessed area. The pliers also includes a first grip positioned on the recessed area of the handle of the first member and a second grip positioned on the recessed area of the handle of the second member. The end portions of the handles are made of metal.

Methods and apparatus for an enhanced driving bit
Methods and apparatus for an enhanced driving bit according to various aspects of the present technology include a bit comprising a plurality of driving surfaces having a limited length and a shoulder portion positioned between the driving surfaces and a mid-body portion of the bit. The length of the driving surfaces is selected to allow complete insertion into a recessed socket area of a fastener such that the entire driving surface is positioned within the recessed socket area. The shoulder surface is configured to distribute localized stresses away from the driving surfaces to the mid-body portion more efficiently to reduce a potential for breakage of the driving surfaces during use.
PLIERS
A pliers includes a first member having a first head and a first handle, and a second member having a second head and a second handle. Each of the handles includes a recessed grip area bounded by a forward lip and a rear lip. The rear lip has a cross-sectional area not greater than a cross-sectional area of a portion of the handle adjacent the rear lip and opposite the grip area. The pliers also includes a first grip positioned on the grip area of the first handle and a second grip positioned on the grip area of the second handle.

Hammer
The various embodiments disclosed and pictured illustrate a hammer for comminuting various materials. The embodiments pictured and described herein are primarily for use with a rotatable hammermill assembly. The hammer includes a connector end having a rod hole therein, a contact end for delivery of energy to the material to be comminuted, and a neck affixing the connector end to the contact end. The neck is formed with at least one neck recess therein. In other embodiments, one or more shoulders are positioned around the periphery of the rod hole for added strength. In still other embodiments, the contact end is configured with more than one contact surface.
STRIPPING TIP FOR ORTHODONTICS AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
The present invention relates to a stripping tip for orthodontics and a manufacturing method thereof. The stripping tip includes a grinding blade provided with a grinding surface for grinding teeth, a holder comprising a grinding blade coupling portion coupled to the grinding blade and a connection coupling portion connected to the grinding blade coupling portion and coupled to a handle or handpiece, and a stiffness enhancement portion provided to a part of the grinding blade coupling portion coupled to the grinding blade to enhance stiffness of the part of the grinding blade coupling portion coupled to the grinding blade.

Pliers
A pliers includes a first member having a first head and a first handle. The first handle has an enlarged end portion and a grip area adjacent the enlarged end portion. At least a portion of the grip area has a smaller cross-sectional area than the enlarged end portion to define a rear lip located at an interface between the grip area and the enlarged end portion. The pliers also includes a first grip having a first open end and a second open end. The first grip is positioned on the grip area of the first handle. The first handle extends through the first open end and the second open end such that the rear lip of the first handle retains the second grip on the grip area of the first handle.
