METHOD FOR NANOPARTICLE PURIFICATION
20180009038 · 2018-01-11 ·

A method for purifying nanoparticles by which a large amount of nanoparticles can be obtained in a safe manner and in a short time as compared to a conventional method for purifying nanoparticles. A method for purifying nanoparticles by which nanoparticles are purified from a dispersion liquid in which nanoparticles are dispersed in a solvent A used in synthesis of the nanoparticles, the method including: a mixing step of mixing the dispersion liquid, a solvent B that is miscible with the solvent A, and a solvent C that forms two phases together with the solvent B; a concentrating step of concentrating the nanoparticles in a phase of the solvent C; a washing step of forming a third phase containing the nanoparticles in the phase of the solvent C; and a purifying step of extracting the third phase and removing the solvent C from the third phase.

METAL OBJECTS AND METHODS FOR MAKING METAL OBJECTS USING DISPOSABLE MOLDS

Methods of making metal objects are provided. These methods generally involve adding a metal powder slurry into a sacrificial mold, such as a mold made by three dimensional printing, and heating the slurry/mold mixture. The heating steps may include curing the slurry to make a green part inside the mold, debinding to burn off the mold and binder to make a brown part, sintering, and hot isostatic pressing. Metal products, such as aircraft engine parts, are also provided.

METHODS OF SYNTHESIZING DENDRITIC GOLD NANOPARTICLES
20180009036 · 2018-01-11 ·

Methods of synthesizing gold nanodendrites (AuNDs) using amines, such as long chain amines, as a structural directing agent are disclosed. Degree of branching (DB) of the AuNDs can be tuned by adjusting certain synthetic parameters, such as solvent type, and the type and concentration of the long chain amines. DB control results in dramatic tunability of the optical properties of the AuNDs in the near infrared (NIR) range enabling improved performance, for example as a photothermal cancer therapeutic.

THREE DIMENSIONAL CHIRAL NANOSTRUCTURES

Proposed is a three-dimensional chiral metal nanoparticle, comprising a heterometal nanoparticle including: a seed region formed of a first metal; and a heterogeneous region disposed on an external side of the seed region to enclose the seed region and formed of a second metal. The first metal is gold (Au), and the second metal is palladium (Pd). In a rectangular parallelepiped structure, a rectangular band shape rotates in a clockwise direction or a counterclockwise direction on each surface and protrudes towards a center of the surface.

BURNER ELEMENT FABRICATION USING INJECTION MOULDING AND CONSEQUENT SINTERING
20230001478 · 2023-01-05 ·

A method of fabricating a burner element for an abatement apparatus is disclosed. The method comprises: injection moulding a charge comprising metal particles and a flow compound into a mould defining the burner element to produce a moulded burner element; and sintering the moulded burner element. In this way, injection moulding is used to produce the burner element, which provides far more flexibility regarding the design and properties of the burner element and avoids the necessity of incorporating a perforated support into the burner element. This allows burner elements of more intricate design to be produced, as well as burner elements which are thinner than those produced using existing techniques, which increases the volume of a combustion chamber defined by that burner element for any external burner element size, which in turn increases the amount of effluent gas that can be treated for any burner size.

Mixed silver powder and conductive paste comprising same

A mixed silver powder and a conductive paste comprising the powder are disclosed. The mixed silver powder is obtained by mixing two or more spherical silver powders having different properties from each other. The mixed powder may minimize the disadvantages of the respective types of the two or more powders and maximize the advantages thereof, thereby improving the characteristics of products. In addition, by comprehensively controlling the particle size distribution of surface-treated mixed silver powder and the particle diameter and specific gravity of primary particles, a high-density conductor pattern, a precise line pattern, and the suppression of aggregation over time can be simultaneously achieved.
