Embodiments herein are generally related to apparatus and methodologies for improved screening of important biological states in animals. The apparatus and methodologies comprise the use of high-resolution infrared thermography images collected about an animal to obtain both thermal information and behavioural information about the animal, wherein both thermal and behavioural information can be used to generate a comprehensive thermal prolife value that is indicative of the biologically important state in the animal.

A method of tracking an animal in a population of animals is disclosed that includes applying a visual identifier to the animal, associating reference identifier data of the visual identifier to animal data of the animal, capturing a digital image of the visual identifier applied to the animal, recognizing the visual identifier by digitally processing the captured digital image, and identifying the animal upon recognition of the visual identifier.
Animal tag, method and computer program for determining behavior-related data
A three-dimensional accelerometer in an animal tag registers a first set of acceleration parameters expressing a respective acceleration of the tag along each of three independent spatial axes. A processor in the tag derives a respective estimated gravity-related component in each parameter in the first set, and compensates for the respective estimated gravity-related components in the first set to obtain a second set of acceleration parameters representing respective accelerations of the animal tag along each of three independent spatial axes each in which the parameter is balanced around a base level with no influence of gravitation. The processor determines behavior-related data of rise-up and/or lie-down movements of an animal carrying the animal tag based on deviations in a single parameter in the second set of acceleration parameters relative to the base level.

A handle of the treadmill may have a sensor to sense a height and front-rear position, and a belt divider provided between the left and right belts may have position or proximity sensors to sense a left-right position. An inclination of the treadmill may be automatically adjusted according to positions detected by the sensors, and the fragrance assembly, attachment module, and inclination may be automatically operated in accordance with an exercise program played on the display.
