SELECTION APPARATUS
A numerical control apparatus that is a selection apparatus causes, when an automatic lathe that fabricates a workpiece from a bar is unable to fabricate a workpiece that is a fabrication target from a remaining material that is a remaining part of the bar being machined, the automatic lathe to select another workpiece that the automatic lathe is able to fabricate from the remaining material. The numerical control apparatus includes a selection unit to select, when there are a plurality of other workpieces that are able to be fabricated from the remaining material, a workpiece to be fabricated on the basis of a length of the remaining material and priority.
Machine tool
A machine tool includes a workpiece spindle device which rotates a workpiece, a tool post which can move a tool in a first axis direction (X-axis direction) which is a radial direction of the workpiece and a second axis direction (Z-axis direction) which is an axial direction of the workpiece, and an articulated robot including a plurality of arms, a plurality of joints, and end effectors. The plurality of joints connect the plurality of arms in a rotatable manner around an axis parallel to a third axis (Y-axis) orthogonal to the first axis and the second axis, and the end effectors move in a plane parallel to a movement plane of the tool.

MAGNETIC CHIP CONVEYOR
A magnetic chip conveyor of the present invention reduces the possibility that both end portions of a long chip are adsorbed by two or more types of magnets having different magnetic forces, so that a long chip does not remain. An endless chain is disposed on the rear surface of a plate, so as to be wound around sprocket wheels. The sprocket wheel is rotated in the counterclockwise direction by a motor, and the endless chain rotates in the counterclockwise direction. Twelve magnet holders are fixed to the endless chain at equal intervals. Three types of permanent magnets having different magnetic forces are bonded and fixed to the magnet holders.
DEBRIS COLLECTION ASSEMBLY
A debris collection assembly includes a jig and an adapter insert. The jig includes a front wall and a back wall opposite the front wall. The front wall defines an aperture therethrough. The back wall defines an adapter opening that aligns with the aperture. The jig includes a vacuum port and defines an interior cavity that fluidly connects the aperture, the adapter opening, and the vacuum port. The adapter insert is removably loaded through the adapter opening into the interior cavity of the jig. The adapter insert defines an orifice sized to receive a drill bit and allow the drill bit to extend through the aperture in the front wall to drill into a work piece. Negative pressure at the vacuum port draws airflow through the interior cavity and captures debris generated from drilling.

Lathe
A lathe capable of shortening a spindle with respect to a spindle axis direction. A spindle provided with a chuck at the front end thereof is rotatably supported on a support by bearings. A chuck operating apparatus includes a tilt claw and a shifter. A built-in motor is disposed between the bearings to rotate the spindle. The claw is provided outside the spindle and between the bearings. The claw has a movable end whose distance from the spindle axis varies between a first posture to bring the chuck into the opened state and a second posture to bring the chuck into the closed state. The shifter is provided outside the claw and movable in the spindle axis direction to be brought in a first position to bring the claw into the first posture and in a second position to bring the claw into the second posture.

METHOD FOR SETTING UP A ROTARY PROCESSING MACHINE AND ROTARY PROCESSING MACHINE
A method for setting up a rotary processing machine (1), in which at least one base jaw (4) of a workpiece receptacle is set up to receive a workpiece type that is to be processed and in which the base jaw (4) is coated on a workpiece contact surface (15).
Machine tool and system
A machine tool including a first cooling unit, such as a fan, that cools at least one of a drive part that drives a component of the machine tool and an amplifier of the drive part, a second cooling unit, such as a Peltier element, that cools the at least one of the drive part and the amplifier, and a cooling control unit that controls the first cooling unit and the second cooling unit, wherein vibration caused by the second cooling unit is less than vibration caused by the first cooling unit, and the cooling control unit switches cooling of the at least one of the drive part and the amplifier, from cooling by the first cooling unit to cooling by the second cooling unit.
