A drill guide that includes associated components and various methods of use herein. The drill guide includes a first guide column and a second guide column provided on a base plate. The drill guide also includes a chuck carrier adapted to operatively receive a drill chuck of a portable drill. The chuck carrier is operably engaged with the first guide column and the second guide column, and the chuck carrier is linearly moveable along the first guide column and the second guide column between a return position and a plunging position relative to the base plate. The drill guide also includes a tapered portion defined in the first guide column. The drill guide also includes a depth stopper that is operably engaged with the first guide column, wherein the tapered portion enables self-tightening of the depth stopper about the first guide column.

Method and apparatus for locating non-visible objects

Non-visible objects which differ in their physical properties from their surroundings by association with a variable strength magnetic field may be detected by a suitable array of sensors which can be moved relative to the object in question. By analyzing the signals from the plurality of the sensors in the array, the position of the object can be deduced relative to the array and the array moved to enable a machining guide thereon to be aligned with the non-visible object. The system is of particular value in locating apertures in wing spars when attempting to fix the skin of the wing on to them where it is important to be able to locate the correct point at which to drill a hole through the skin to coincide with the hole in the spar. By defining a magnetic field in the vicinity of the hole to identify the hole magnetically and using an array of magnetic field sensors in a base with an aperture, it is possible to shift the array so that the aperture is precisely aligned with the non-visible hole.

MACHINING HEAD WITH ACTIVE CORRECTION, METHOD FOR OPERATING THE HEAD AND USE THEREOF

A machining head with active correction of the type used in association with a robot to carry out fast high-precision machining tasks especially on parts for the aeronautical production industry that has localised position and angular sensors, and a machining motor or spindle provided with localised movement with respect to the head casing, independent of the robot's movement, this movement being preferably both displacement and rotation with respect to both, allowing active correction of the machining position is disclosed. The invention provides the main advantage of allowing errors by the robot or deformation of the part to be machined, in positioning for machining, to be corrected in a localised very fast and accurate way, without the need to re-position the robot.

Rotary tool for lower receiver manufacturing

A rotary tool can be adapted for removing material from a workpiece such as a lower receiver. A rotary tool can have an adapter with a major diameter, and a cutter head with a minor diameter. The major diameter of the adapter can reduce deflection and chatter, while the minor diameter of the cutter head can be used to manufacture lower receivers with accuracy. The rotary tool can be adapted to be engaged with a rotary power tool.

Cutting tool having a depth stop

This unique and novel invention provides a custom data removal jig used to reliably, efficiently, and cost-effectively remove data from a handheld mobile computing device (“PC device”). The data removal jig comprises an open-box structure which provides one or more alignment features to assist with properly inserting the PC device within the data removal jig. Additionally, a pilot hole is provided by the securement structure. Once the PC device is inserted into the data removal jig, the pilot hole is substantially centered above the integrated flash memory chip on the particular PC device's motherboard which the data removal jig has been customized to accommodate. A power drill is used to precisely penetrate the PC device via the pilot hole and substantially isolate the damage to the integrated flash memory chip. Additionally, the securement structure also provides one or more braces that assist with restraining movement of the securement structure during the data removal process.
