A single-point rifling tool including a rifling head with a lateral opening, a hook ramp stationarily secured at a first end of the lateral opening, and a cutting tool movably secured at a second end of the lateral opening. The cutting tool is movable along an angled surface of the hook ramp between a retracted position and a cutting position so as to perform a rifling operation in only a single direction through a gun barrel so as to perform a rifling operation in only a single direction through a gun barrel.

CUTTING TOOL

A cutting tool for undercutting a bore in a component includes a shaft portion and at least one tangentially and axially cutting portion. The shaft portion extends in an axial direction relative to the component and has a maximum shaft radius. The cutting portion projects radially with respect to the shaft portion further than the maximum shaft radius. Each cutting portion includes a tangentially arranged lateral cutting edge configured to form a tangentially extending groove in the component. At least one cutting portion has a front cutting edge arranged axially at a front end thereof and configured to form an axially extending groove in the component.

Methods of shaping slots with computer numerical controlled machining centers

A method for shaping a blind slot in a workpiece includes using a standard computer numerical controlled machine center to radially step a single slot broaching tool into a precursor slot in the workpiece for a predetermined distance to form a slot with a blind end. After the slot with the blind end is formed, the method includes rotating at least one of the workpiece and the single slot broaching tool and radially stepping the single slot broaching tool into another precursor slot for another predetermined distance to form another slot with another blind end in the workpiece. The another predetermined distance is the same as the predetermined distance, or in the alternative, the another predetermined distance is different than the predetermined distance.

A slot bit for a carpentry system has a first cutting larger head on an end of a shaft of the slot bit to cut a circular portion of a magnifying glass shaped slot via teeth in a face and a circumference thereof and a second annularly adjacent cutting smaller head to cut a handle portion of the magnifying glass shaped slot via circumferential teeth thereof. The disclosed TR'IT Trim Reusable Installation Slot Bit and system simplifies trimming forgoing the need to tape before painting while significantly reducing water intrusion points often associated with the process. The disclosure is uniquely designed to prevent trim replacement during removal/renovations and offers an alternative version ideal for performing external trim tasks.
