SYSTEM FOR REMOTELY MONITORING A FEED ENVIRONMENT
20170208780 · 2017-07-27 ·

A remote monitoring system and a method of remotely monitoring a feed environment that can sense feed stored within a filled container. The remote monitoring system can be configured to determine a distance between a level sensor and a top feed surface of the feed and to wirelessly send feed level data and, optionally, environmental data, to a communication device of a user.

Multipurpose Beehive Access System
20170188549 · 2017-07-06 ·

A multipurpose beehive access structure includes a housing designed to be placed on top of a standard beehive box. The housing includes a bottom plate with a central aperture through which frames in the beehive box below may be accessed. A removable cover assembly includes a cover plate for covering the central aperture. A queen cage aperture is provided in the cover plate. A queen cage placed in the queen cage aperture rests on top of the frames below. The queen cage aperture provides a passageway between the queen cage and the interior of the beehive to allow bees to access the queen cage. A multi-position vent block has a passageway that provides ventilation and a second entrance to the beehive when positioned between a side aperture and a bottom aperture in the housing. The vent block may also be positioned to close off the second entrance.

The invention relates to a multi-use beehive, which consists of a base (1), a deck (2), an inner supplier (3), a queen partition (22) and a lid (4). The base (1) has spacers (7), flying boards (8) for the bees and a perforated floor (12). The deck (2) consists of two parts (14), (15) with an inner insulation (18) and a connection flange (5). The inner supplier (3) has a pan (25) and grid (26) for receiving liquid and solid feed respectively, while the queen partition (22) allows accommodation of the queen. Finally, the lid (4) has also an insulation (18) and aeration ports (6). The beehive is made of plastic and its parts comprise holes for the assemblying thereof by means of pins (19).

ACANTHOSPERMUM HISPIDUM COMPOSITION FOR THE TREATMENT OF CANCER AND METHODS FOR ITS MANUFACTURE

This invention relates to the field of cancer management, and in particular to the field of phytomedicine and nutraceutical composition for management of cancer, control of viral, bacterial and fungal infections, as well as other associated illnesses. This invention also pertains to the method of controlled, ecologically self-sustainable continuous horticulture combined with aquaculture (aquaponics system), for the described herbal plants and to the method for manufacturing the end products, both methods as per applicable ISO 14698 series and ISO-14644 series standards, EU GMP annex 1 and pharmacological Good Manufacturing Practice. The present application focuses primarily on Acanthospermum hispidum DC and on Solidago Canadensis L., and on their efficacy as anticancer agents, whereby 100% aqueous extract of Acanthospermum hispidum DC acts as immunomodulator possibly through initial vacuolisation followed by shrinkage of the cells and ultimately necrosis of the cells, and 100% aqueous extract of Solidago Canadensis L. exhibits the presence of cinnamoyl quinic acid that appears to cause the DNA groove binding thus preventing the formation of clumps of proteins which can distort the B-form double helix.

BOX-LESS BEEHIVE
20170035033 · 2017-02-09 ·

A beehive according to this disclosure includes a plurality of modular sections that are configured to be positioned adjacent to one another in a manner that enables simplified, even automated, extraction of honey. Such a beehive may include, or even consist essentially of, a plurality of interchangeable rings, or plates, that are configured to be stacked relative to one another in an assembled relationship, and to be secured together in the assembled relationship. In some embodiments, a beehive may consist of a plurality of rings and a mechanism for securing the rings in an assembled relationship (e.g., tie rods, etc.).

GRID RING BROOD COMB FRAME FOR CYLINDRICAL BROOD CHAMBER HIVES
20170000092 · 2017-01-05 ·

The present invention relates to a grid ring brood comb frame for cylindrical brood chamber hives, which has a brood comb frame (20) carrying the comb (6), and the brood comb frame (20) is supplied with connection bodies (40) for connection to the rotating structure. The characteristic feature of the invention is that a grid ring (30) is located at least partially running around the external shell surface (21) of the brood comb frame (20) carrying the comb (6) opposite to the comb (6), where the brood comb frame (20) and the grid ring (30) are connected to each other via connection sections (31), the grid ring (30) is supplied with a first edge (32) extending beyond the longitudinal external plane (S) resting on the first side surface (22) of the brood comb frame (20), the height (M) of the first edge (32) measured from the longitudinal external plane (S) of the brood comb frame (20) is between 18 mm, furthermore the connection sections (31) between the brood comb frame (20) and the grid ring (30) are interrupted by one or more bee spaces (34), where the radial dimension of the bee space (34) is between 425 mm.

System and method for monitoring, identifying and recording beehive status

The system classifies aspects of beehive phenomenon by fusing sensor data from inside a beehive and human collected data from the same beehive using machine learning algorithms. The human collected data labels the sensor data indicating various aspects of beehive states. By collecting observation data from people looking into the beehives equipped with sensors, the sensor data is augmented with information. The resulting sensor and labelled dataset are used to train machine learning algorithms to classify beehive health states using sensor data alone. This system is used for remote monitoring of honeybee hives using in-hive sensors.
