The center wall may have a third contact side provided with a recess, the recess may have first and second abutment surfaces, and the third contact side may have a third abutment surface adjacent the recess. A channel may be defined by the first, second and third contact sides, and the channel may be configured to receive an adapter of the demolition tool.

Adjustable shimable indexable shear tip

An adjustable shimable indexable shear tip assembly for a distal end tang of a heavy duty demolition shear having a upper movable shear jaw with a tang that has side faces with apertures therethrough, a top seat, a rear seat and a bottom seat. The adjustable shimable shear tip assembly has a two-sided shear tip section with a sidewall and a bottom wall that is adapted to be seated on one of the side tang faces, the top seat, the rear seat and the bottom seat. The bottom wall is formed with the sidewall at a shear edge and is adapted to be seated on the tang bottom seat with a leading shear punching edge. A side plate is provided and adapted to be seated on the other tang side face, the top seat, the rear seat with another shear edge along the bottom wall. The side plate has apertures therethrough alignable with the sidewall apertures and the tang apertures to secure the sidewall, lower wall and access plate to the tang. An extending boss maybe on the lower inside face of the side plate as to index and interlock with a matching indexing slot on the distal face of the bottom wall. A shim may be used with the assembly.

CUTTING TOOL

An underwater tool (5; 205; 305) including a grabber arrangement (15; 215; 315) and a cutter arrangement (20; 220; 320) connected together. The grabber arrangement comprises a plurality of grabber elements (30; 230; 330) disposed on first and second sides (35a; 235a; 335a; 35b; 235b; 335b) of the tool. The cutter arrangement includes a cutter slot (75; 275; 375), an anvil (80; 280; 380) movable to close the slot comprises an anvil and a cutter blade (90; 290; 390). In use, a cable (10; 210; 310) is held by the grabber arrangement, and thereby moved into the slot which is then closed by the anvil so as to entrap the cable within the slot. The cutter blade is then driven against the anvil so as to cut the cable.

Cutting device

A cutting device includes a mounting head, cutting tools and a bracing element. Each tool has a cutting edge having a recess with a substantially semi-circular contour for accommodating a portion of a workpiece. An engaging protrusion extends into each recess and has a foot circumferential angular range from 20 to 90 degrees. The engaging protrusions project into the recess by to 9/10 of its radius. The bracing element extends from one tool and has a surface for supporting the workpiece.

SINGLE-BLADE-DOUBLE-EDGED STEEL WIRE ROPE SHEARS
20190126368 · 2019-05-02 ·

A pair of single-blade-double-edged steel wire rope shears, includes: a first cutting member and a second cutting member pivotally connected to each other. The first cutting member includes a first grip and a first blade, the first blade includes a first lateral cutting edge and a first bottom cutting edge; the second cutting member includes a second grip and a second blade, the second blade includes a second lateral cutting edge and a second bottom cutting edge; when the first and second grips pivot toward each other, the first and second lateral cutting edges cut a to-be-cut object inserted therebeween, meanwhile, the first and second bottom cutting edges also cut the to-be-cut object, so as to form at least three cutting points on the to-be-cut object, and as a result, the pair of single-blade-double-edged steel wire rope shears can improve cutting efficiency.

Workpiece cutting method

A workpiece cutting method basically includes providing a workpiece proximate to a first blade including a first cutting edge. The method further comprises moving a second blade including a second cutting edge in contact with the first blade such that the first and second cutting edges of the first and second blades cooperatively engage to cut the workpiece while maintaining the first and second cutting edges parallel to each other.

Demolition shear and demolition shear piercing tip insert and nose configuration

A demolition shear and a piercing tip insert and nose configuration for a demolition shear which resists nose wear and resists retract forces exerted on the piercing tip insert in jamming situations and in the event of snagging of the piercing tip insert. The piercing tip insert includes first and second piercing tip halves, each half having an outer planar sidewall, a curved front wall extending laterally inward, and a bottom leg extending laterally inward defining a shearing edge and a piercing edge.

HEAVY DUTY MATERIAL PROCESSOR

Heavy-duty material processors (e.g., shears, concrete crushers) include a jaw that pivotally connects to another jaw. A hydraulic cylinder extends between the jaws to open and close the jaws in a shearing motion. Cutting/shearing/crushing blade inserts mount to detachable blade holders, which in turn mount to one of the jaws. Wedge blocks securely and detachably attach the blade inserts to the remainder of their associated jaw, and rely on force-amplifying wedge surfaces to ensure a secure attachment. The detachable blade holders may include lateral flanges that extend across an otherwise exposed face of their respective underlying jaw bodies to protect the jaw bodies during use. A blade on one of the jaws is laterally adjustable, which helps to free a jam if one of the jaws gets jammed into the space between blades in the other jaw.

Hoistable cutter

A device for cutting an aerial obstacle includes a mounting frame; an anchor point for attachment to a hoist; a cutter mounted to the mounting frame, the cutter having opposing cutting blades for engaging and cutting the obstacle when positioned therebetween; a power supply mounted to the mounting frame, the power supply providing power to the cutter for actuating the cutting blades; and a guiding frame extending from the mounting frame, the guiding frame providing an inner guiding surface for directing the obstacle to a position between the opposing cutting blades of the cutter. The device is usable for cutting aerial obstacles, such as cables, beams and/or branches.

Workpiece shearing apparatus

A shearing apparatus includes a housing, dies within the housing, a force transmitting apparatus; and a die engaging mechanism between the force transmitting apparatus and the movable die. The dies are movable relative to each other and have cutouts which cut a workpiece. The die engaging mechanism is releasable to decouple the force transmitting apparatus from the movable die.
