10730122 · 2020-08-04 · ·

There are disclosed systems and methods for safely and effectively removing the articular cartilage and cortical bone layers from an articular surface of a human cadaveric femoral head. One embodiment includes an osseous-sanding accessory system installed upon a conventional band saw having a motor and a cabinet that houses a pulley coupled with a primary drive shaft rotated by the motor. The accessory system may include a threaded drive shaft coupled with the primary drive shaft, a grinding disk having an abrasive surface and affixed about a distal end of the threaded drive shaft, and a removable accessory table mounted to the band saw below the grinding disk. When the motor rotates the primary drive shaft, and thus the threaded drive shaft, the grinding disk rotates relative to the accessory table and abrades osseous tissues introduced to the abrasive surface of the grinding disk. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

An example pipe cutting tool includes a plurality of actuators and a plurality of cutters. Each of the plurality of cutters is connected to at least one separate actuator of the plurality of actuators. The at least one separate actuator is configured to move the cutter between a pre-deployed and deployed position. The deployed position is beyond the pre-deployed position. The plurality of cutters may include a first and second cutter, with the at least one separate actuator connected to the second cutter moving based, at least in part, on one or more cutting conditions. An example method of cutting a pipe includes extending a first cutter to contact the pipe, cutting at least a portion of the pipe using the first cutter, detecting a cutting condition, extending a second cutter based, at least in part, on the cutting condition, and resuming the cutting using the second cutter.

Tire processing apparatus and method of use

This invention relates to a tire processing apparatus for processing large used tires as are found from industrial mining applications. The present invention relates particularly to a tire processing apparatus comprising a head that is operable to move about two or more axes at a first end of a swing arm, the head further having a rasp operable to strip rubber particles from a stationary tire for use of the particles as a landscaping mulch. In various embodiments, the apparatus also comprises a head with a circular saw operable to cut a portion of the tire into a livestock trough. The invention also includes a method using the above. The system and method in its various embodiments are particularly adept at processing used tires from mining industry applications.

A cold saw module may be a rail saw module that includes a cold saw configured to cut a railway rail along a cutting path, a rail alignment clamp configured to grip the railway rail near the cutting path, a feed actuator to drive the cold saw along the cutting path, and a module coupling element configured to selectively couple to a mating module coupling element of an articulated arm and/or a tool adapter. Cold saw modules may be used to cut metal workpieces such as a railway rail. Cutting a railway rail may include positioning the cold saw module at a cutting site along the railway rail installed in a railway, clamping the cold saw module to the railway rail, and cutting the railway rail at the cutting site with the cold saw module while the cold saw module is clamped to the cutting site.

Window covering sizing method and apparatus

A method and apparatus for cutting a window covering comprises saw for cutting the window blind. A clamp assembly moves the window covering relative to the saw. A controller moves the clamp assembly to automatically position the window covering relative to the saw. The saw is moved into engagement with the window covering to cut the window covering.

Window covering sizing method and apparatus

An apparatus for cutting a window covering comprises a saw for cutting the window blind. A clamp assembly moves the window covering relative to the saw. A controller moves the clamp assembly to automatically position an end of the window covering relative to the saw. The saw is moved into engagement with the window covering to cut the window covering. A dust collection system comprises a shroud substantially surrounds the bottom of the saw blade where the shroud is connected to a vortex dust collector.

Attachable and extendable saw and methods for using same

An attachable and extendable saw and methods for cutting an object on a work surface with the attachable and extendable saw are provided. The extendable saw can include a saw blade housing coupled to a main body by at least one extendable member, the saw blade housing at least partially covers a saw blade and the extendable member can be configured to move the saw blade housing and the saw blade between a retracted position and an extended position relative to the main body. The extendable saw can also include a motorized unit coupled to the saw blade and configured to rotate or provide other blade movement to the saw blade and a switchable device or unit disposed on the main body and having at least one contact surface that facilitates attachment of the extendable saw to the work surface, said contact surface being switchable between a magnetized or vacuum state and a non-magnetized state or non-vacuum state, respectively. Attachment of the saw blade to the attachable and extendable saw is provided for.

Single blade pile cutting system

A pile cutter, suitable for cutting of steel reinforced concrete piles, has a frame with a pile receiving area and a generally U-shaped track around the pile receiving area. A single saw blade, for example a diamond tipped rotary saw blade, is carried on a saw blade carriage assembly, which is movably mounted on the U-shaped track. The dimensions of the various components are such that the saw blade cuts past a center line through the pile receiving area. By moving the saw blade carriage assembly first to one end of the U-shaped track, then to the other end, the pile can be completely severed.

PLUNGE SAW

A plunge circular saw, including a cutting body and a substrate pivotally connected to the cutting body. The cutting body contains a housing; at least one handle provided on the housing; a motor received within the housing; a circular saw blade mechanically connected to the motor; a battery pack electrically connected to the motor, and a hinge for pivotally connecting the cutting body to the substrate. The battery pack is detachably mounted to a trailing end of the cutting body. The cutting body is pivotable relative to the substrate by the hinge and movable between a cutting position and a parking position. The hinge is disposed at a position between the motor or the circular saw blade and the battery pack. The circular saw provided by the present invention improves the overall parallelism of the circular saw by changing the position of the hinge and gravity distribution thereof, thereby allowing the user to cut the workpiece more easily and accurately.
