A band saw including a frame, at least two, spaced apart, rotatable wheels supported by the frame, a blade looped around the wheels, where rotation of at least one wheel causes the blade to move around the wheels, a detection system adapted to detect a dangerous condition between a person and the blade, and a reaction system configured to engage and stop the blade within 10 milliseconds after detection of the dangerous condition is disclosed. The reaction system may be configured to cut and grip the blade.

Bandsaw machine health monitoring system

A bandsaw machine health monitoring system includes a sensing module, a signal processing module, a human-machine interface module and a control module. The sensing module may include a plurality of sensing devices and these sensing devices can collect a plurality of signals from a bandsaw machine in operation. The signal processing module can be electrically connected to the sensing module and the signal processing module can process the signals collected by the sensing module. The control module can analyze the processing result transmitted from the signal processing module. The human-machine interface module can receive the analysis result of the control module and display the health status value of the bandsaw machine.

A shoe positioning system for use with a power tool that operates on a work piece may include a shoe, an indexing member, and an index plunger. The shoe may abut the work piece during operation of the power tool. The indexing member may movably engage with the shoe and may include a plurality of index openings. The index plunger may be coupled to the shoe and it may be movable between a first and second positions. When the index plunger is in the first position, the index plunger may be received by at least one of the index openings, thereby preventing the shoe from substantially moving along a longitudinal dimension with respect to the indexing member. When the index plunger is in the second position, the index plunger may be outside of the index openings, thereby permitting the shoe to move.

Adjustable locking shoe

A shoe for a band saw includes a block for coupling to the band saw, the block having an aperture, a locking ball disposed in the aperture, a body including a first surface for engaging a workpiece and an opposite surface having plurality of recesses, and a locking rod coupled to the block and movable between a first position and a second position. The locking ball is received in one of the plurality of recesses of the body when the locking rod is in the first position such that the body is fixed relative to the block, and the body is movable relative to the block when the locking rod is in the second position.

Portable band saw

A portable band saw reduces the overall size increase when a larger controller is included. A portable band saw includes a first saw wheel, a second saw wheel, a band saw blade placed on the first and second saw wheels, a motor that drives the first saw wheel and has a rotation axis in a front-rear direction, a controller that controls the motor, and a housing including a first housing accommodating the first saw wheel, a second housing accommodating the second saw wheel, and a bridge housing accommodating the motor between the first and second housings. The band saw blade is at least partly in an opening below the bridge housing. The controller is in the bridge housing with its maximum surface facing upward.
