FUME BOARD
20190141962 · 2019-05-16 ·

An improved fume board and methods related to the same are provided. An improved fume board employing a motorized fan to quickly and uniformly deliver repellant throughout a honey super to result in near complete clearance of bees from the honey super in an efficient manner without significant disruption to the bee hive. The improved fume board box has a top entry portal and fan-blower connecting mechanism which allow for the incorporation of various small, battery powered fan-blowers currently available on the market. The small fan-blower generates a steady, low-volume air-flow that mixes air with bee repellant, which is then evenly distributed down into the honey super. The low-volume air-flow significantly increases repellant dispersal without agitating or intoxicating the bees, and without the additional danger of injuring bees. By effectively controlling the dispersal of repellant and preserving the environment inside the honey super, beekeepers can quickly and efficiently evacuate bees from supers prior to honey extraction.

Forced Air Pesticide Vaporizer with Heatsink Vaporization Chamber and Offset Exhaust Chamber
20190141980 · 2019-05-16 ·

An apparatus for vaporizing and dispensing a pesticide features an elongated body structure, and heatsink attached to the elongated body structure at a distal end thereof. A loading port on the elongated structure feeds solid pesticide material into a closed-ended vaporization chamber inside the heatsink via a delivery passage running longitudinally of the elongated structure. A heater is operably arranged with the heatsink to vaporize the solid pesticide material. The heatsink interior features a second exhaust chamber that is radially offset from the vaporization chamber, and is only fluidly communicated therewith by a radial port near the end of the vaporization chamber fed by the delivery passage. The loaded solid pesticide falls past the radial port into the vaporization chamber, while the resulting vapor is forced through the radial port into the exhaust chamber by pressurized air fed through the delivery passage.

Bee frame extractor grip

Bee keepers, or apiarists, need to regularly inspect their hives in an apiary. In addition, the goal of the apiary is to collect products from the hive. To perform these maintenances chores, the bee keeper typically is required to remove a frame from the hive. Embodiments of the Bee Frame Extractor Grip are comprised of a pair of handles, a left-side grip assembly, and a right-side grip assembly. The pair of handles connect the left-side grip assembly and the right-side grip assembly via bolts that pass through the upper arms of both L-brackets and into the ends of the handles.

A lawn mower plow or accessory warning device for diverting and saving honey bees and other endangered insects. The device components include a plate for removably securing the warning device to the mower deck; a manner for removably connecting and securing the plate to the deck; a warning emitter; and a way for securing a warning emitter to the plate Alternative mechanical designs and light, sound, electro-magnetic force and spray devices are shown as alternative embodiments. The warning device alerts the pollinating bees of the oncoming mower so the bees can survive by flying away and averting their demise by the mower. Alternative devices for warning are sound, light, smoke, spray and Electro Magnetic force/pulse generators placed with the mowers.

A beehive assembly has a column of hive bodies which are releasably connected to a sheet metal spine of a sleeve which encircles a post mounted to the ground. The sleeve has a rack which engages a pinion mounted to the post with a handle which rotates the pinion and moves the sleeve and attached beehive vertically. A latching pawl is selectively released by a foot pedal mounted to the post. By turning the crank the column of hive bodies is caused to ascend into an operating position where the bee colony within the hive bodies is elevated above the ground, or is lowered to be accessible by a beekeeper.
