Method for manufacturing outer joint member for constant-velocity universal joint and outer joint member
A method of manufacturing an outer joint member of a constant velocity universal joint includes forming cup and shaft members of medium carbon steel, preparing, as the cup member, a cup member having cylindrical and bottom portions integrally formed by forging, and a joining end surface formed on an outer surface of the bottom portion, and preparing, as the shaft member, a shaft member having a joining end surface to be joined to the bottom portion of the cup member. The method also includes bringing the joining end surfaces of the cup and shaft members into abutment against each other, and welding the cup and shaft members from an outer side of the cup member to an abutment portion between the cup and shaft members in a radial direction of the cup members.
Processing nozzle, processing head, machining apparatus, and control method and control program of processing nozzle
A machining apparatus that need not exchange a processing nozzle when changing a shaping condition, and increases the use efficiency of a material. The processing nozzle that performs processing by ejecting a processing material towards a molten pool formed on a process surface by an energy line includes a cylindrical inner housing that incorporates a path through which the energy line passes, and ejects the energy line from one end. The processing nozzle also includes a cylindrical outer housing that incorporates the inner housing, and has an inner surface tapered in the ejection direction of the energy line ejected from the inner housing. The processing nozzle also includes a slide mechanism that changes, along the energy line, the relative position of the outer housing with respect to the inner housing.
THIN-SKIN SIDE STAY BEAMS AND LANDING GEAR ASSEMBLIES
A thin-skin side-stay beam may include an upper arm with thin skin and a mating flange extending longitudinally from the thin skin. A lower arm may also have a thin skin and a mating flange extending longitudinally from the lower arm. A joint may include a pin and/or a bushing extending through the mating flanges to pivotally couple the upper arm to the lower arm. The upper arm and/or the lower arm may include one or more internal walls defining one or more internal cavities.
Method for producing a blade for a turbomachine
Disclosed is a method for producing a blade for a turbomachine, in particular for an aero engine. The method comprises providing at least one blade airfoil with a first platform region and at least one blade root with a second platform region and joining the blade airfoil and the blade root at the respective platform regions by a friction welding method at a common joint region of the platform regions, the blade airfoil and the blade root being made of materials which are different from each other. Also disclosed is a blade which is and/or can be obtained by such a method.
Method for the fabrication of corrosion resistant electrodes
An electrode for use in instruments capable of measuring the electrophoretic mobility of particles in solution is disclosed. The electrode is comprised of an inexpensive support member, generally made of titanium, onto a flat surface of which has been connected, generally by microwelding, a flat electrically conductive but chemically inert foil member, preferably platinum. A uniform texture can be generated on the exposed surfaces of the electrode by various means including tumbling the electrode with an abrasive. An oxide layer can be generated on the support member by soaking the composite electrode in an appropriate medium, protecting the exposed surface of the support member from fluid contact with the sample solution, while the foil member, unaffected by the oxidation process, is able to contact the sample solution.

CORE MANUFACTURING METHOD AND CORE
A core manufacturing that includes stacking a plurality of electromagnetic steel plates in an axial direction; performing first welding on an inner surface of a through hole formed in a stack of the electromagnetic steel plates and continuous in the axial direction, the first welding being performed toward a first side in the axial direction which is one side in the axial direction; and performing second welding on the inner surface of the through hole, the second welding being performed toward a second side in the axial direction which is the other side in the axial direction.
Method for the powder-based additive manufacturing of a part, notably a lining blade for a tire mould, with an associated reinforcing element
Process for the additive manufacturing of at least one part by powder sintering or melting using at least one beam of energy. A step of deposition and selective melting of stacked layers of powder manufactures at least one intermediate element comprising the part and at least one local reinforcing element having a split tubular shape that surrounds one of the lateral end faces of the part and that face each of the frontal faces of said part adjacent to said end face, said reinforcing element extending in a direction substantially parallel to the stacking direction of the layers. The part and the local reinforcing element are separated.
Additive manufacturing system and method
An additive manufacturing system including a two-dimensional energy patterning system for imaging a powder bed is disclosed. Improved optical systems supporting beam combining, beam steering, and both patterned and unpatterned beam recycling and re-use are described.
Optical manufacturing process sensing and status indication system
An optical manufacturing process sensing and status indication system is taught that is able to utilize optical emissions from a manufacturing process to infer the state of the process. In one case, it is able to use these optical emissions to distinguish thermal phenomena on two timescales and to perform feature extraction and classification so that nominal process conditions may be uniquely distinguished from off-nominal process conditions at a given instant in time or over a sequential series of instants in time occurring over the duration of the manufacturing process. In other case, it is able to utilize these optical emissions to derive corresponding spectra and identify features within those spectra so that nominal process conditions may be uniquely distinguished from off-nominal process conditions at a given instant in time or over a sequential series of instants in time occurring over the duration of the manufacturing process.
