Dynamic range enhancement systems and methods for use in welding applications
Dynamic range enhancement methods and systems for display for use welding applications are described. A display system in a dynamic range enhancement system can include, for example, a splitter, a high density filter, a low density filter, a first image sensor, a second image sensor, a graphical circuit, and a display. The high density filter and the first image sensor can be disposed in a first path. The low density filter and the second image sensor can be disposed in a second path. The first image sensor can receive filtered electromagnetic waves from the high density filter. The second image sensor can receive filtered electromagnetic waves from the low density filter. The graphic circuit can combine the signals from the first image sensor and the second image sensor to provide a high dynamic range image or video that is displayed on the display of a welding helmet, for example.
Welding method and steam generator channel head
A welding method for making cladding or buttering on an inner surface of a base material, an inner surface of an opening portion formed in the base material, and the cut surface formed in such a manner that the cut surface is continuous from the inner surface of the base material to the inner surface of the opening portion, wherein the welding method includes a step of forming a protruding portion on the base material in advance, the protruding portion including a temporary welding surface extending toward the center of the opening portion in such a manner that the temporary welding surface is uniformly continuous to the inner surface of the base material and including the cut surface buried therein.
Method and apparatus for forming a structure on a substrate
Presented is a method for forming at least one structure on a substrate. Utilizing a low-temperature plasma jet, powder, of which the structure shall be constructed, is applied to a surface of the substrate. Using at least one laser beam, heat is input into the substrate and/or the powder within a laser incidence region on the substrate. The heat input delays solidification of the powder particles, which are partly or fully melted in the plasma jet, on the substrate and thereby enables the formation of good adhesion between the applied powder, and thus the structure constructed out of the powder, and the substrate. The invention further relates to an apparatus for performing the method.
Apparatus for welding with curtain electrodes and strip electrodes
A system and method of welding is provided where a first welding power supply provides a first welding waveform to a strip electrode for welding a work piece and a second welding power supply provides a second welding waveform to at least one curtain electrode for welding the work piece. The at least one curtain electrode is positioned adjacent to a side of said strip electrode during welding.

Method of repairing defects in cast iron workpieces, and a method of connecting cast iron workpieces
A method of repairing defect in cast iron workpiece, including: machining the workpiece in the area of the defect to remove the defective material and form a chamber opening at a surface of the workpiece; anchoring a receptacle to the workpiece above the chamber (2), the receptacle is provided with an orifice in communication with the chamber; adding molten iron (4) into the receptacle so that it at least part of it flows into the chamber; adding slagging agent (5) into the receptacle; heating the slagging agent and the molten iron with an electrode (6); adding nodulizing agent into the molten iron so as to segregate graphite; and allowing the molten iron and the workpiece to cool down slowly. The above-described technique also has applicability for connecting two cast iron workpieces (11,12) together.

Dual twin-saw wire cladding
A system and method for dual-twin SAW cladding is disclosed. The method includes arranging a first twin SAW head in close proximity to a second twin SAW head, delivering electroslag flux to a surface of a workpiece to create a layer of electroslag flux atop the workpiece, directing two first consumable wires through the first twin SAW head towards the surface of the workpiece, directing two second consumable wires through the second twin SAW head towards the surface of the workpiece, introducing the two first consumable wires and the two second consumable wires into a molten slag pool formed on the surface of the workpiece to melt the two first consumable wires and the two second consumable wires via resistive heating, and translating the first twin SAW head and the second twin SAW head together to form a cladded deposit on the workpiece.
