Method for producing a solder deposit, and solder deposit
11813689 · 2023-11-14 · ·

in a method for producing a solder deposit in a metal sheet, a depression is made in a topside of the metal sheet through deep drawing, thereby causing material to protrude on a bottom side of the metal sheet. The metal sheet is then subjected to a material forming process to produce a collar such that the collar projects in relation to the topside. The collar is then at least partially pressed in a direction of the depression to reduce a cross-sectional area of a mouth of the depression, and the protruding material on the bottom side is completely pushed back so that the bottom side in a region of the depression is in one plane with neighboring regions of the bottom side.

Welding systems and methods with knurled weld interfaces for metallic workpieces

Presented are metalworking systems for joining metallic workpieces, methods for forming and welding such workpieces, and lithium-ion battery pouch cells with anodized aluminum tabs joined via knurling and laser welding. A method for laser welding abutting sections of a workpiece or stackup of workpieces includes receiving, via a workpiece support frame, one or more metallic workpieces each with a surface having applied thereto a treatment layer. This treatment layer releases a gas during welding. A metalworking device forms a knurl pattern into the workpiece surface with the treatment layer. The knurl pattern includes a network of channels, such as one or more series of mutually parallel, rectilinear vent channels, designed to exhaust therethrough the gas released from a welded section of the treatment layer. A laser welding device thereafter welds a joint region of the surface(s) of the one or more metallic workpiece with the knurl pattern.

Carrier component for a vehicle application, and method for producing a carrier component of this type

A carrier component for a vehicle application, formed by two half-shells that are welded to one another at contact sides. When assembling the two half-shells for joining same at the contact sides, in a position in which the two half-shells are arranged above one another, the point of contact of the lower half-shell protrudes in relation to the external closed side of the other half-shell. The point of contact of one of the two half-shells protrudes inward in relation to the internal closed side of the other half-shell. A method for producing a carrier component from two half-shells is also disclosed.

A method for manufacturing a turbo fan unit includes a step for preparing multiple fan blades and an other-side side plate, and a step for connecting each of the multiple fan blades to the other-side side plate by a welding process. In the preparing step, one of the fan blade and the side plate is prepared, in which a connecting-surface forming portion having a connecting surface and a welding projection protruded from the connecting surface is formed. The connecting surface connects one of the fan blade and the side plate to the other one of the fan blade and the side plate. In the connecting step, the welding projection is melted down and the connecting surface is connected to an opposing surface, which is the surface of one of the fan blade and the side plate and which is opposing to the connecting surface.
