A feeding system for feeding workpieces to a device by means of a robot comprises a feeding station and at least one transport carriage, wherein the feeding station comprises a robot fastening section and is designed that a workpiece holder can be held in the feeding station in a holding position defined in relation to the robot fastening section from which a robot attached to the robot fastening section can grasp the workpieces. The transport carriage also has at least one holding device for holding a workpiece holder in a first holding position. The feed system comprises a coupling section wherein the transport carriage can be coupled to the feeding station using a coupling device in such a way that a workpiece holder held in the transport carriage in the first holding position is brought into the receiving position after the transport carriage has been coupled with the coupling section. A method for feeding workpieces to a device and the use of a feed system is provided.

On-wing tool for in-situ cutting on wing-to-fuselage attachment of aircraft

In one example, an on-wing apparatus for in-situ cutting on a wing-to-fuselage attachment includes a first linear bearing disposed on a first mount plate to move in a first direction. A second linear bearing is disposed on a second mount plate to move in a second direction. The second mount plate is attached to the first linear bearing. A tool mounting member is attached to the second linear bearing. A cutter is attached to the tool mounting member to be adjustable, relative to the second linear bearing, in a rotational direction around an adjustment axis. One of the first direction and the second direction is a depth direction of the cut parallel to the adjustment axis, and the other is a length direction of the cut. A width position of the cut is determined by rotational adjustment of the cutter with respect to the second linear bearing in the rotational direction.

AUTOMATICALLY GUIDED TOOLS

A position correcting system, method and tool for guiding a tool during its use based on its location relative to the material being worked on. Provided is a system and tool which uses its auto correcting technology to precisely rout or cut material. The invention provides a camera which is used to track the visual features of the surface of the material being cut to build a map and locate an image on that map used to reference the location of the tool for auto-correction of the cutting path.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR FORMING ALIGNED HOLES IN A WORK PIECE
20210008648 · 2021-01-14 ·

A novel drill jig includes an edge alignment guide, a hole-spacing assembly, a second guide, a biasing member, and an actuator. The edge alignment guide is configured to abut an edge of a workpiece to facilitate movement of the workpiece along a first straight line. The hole-spacing assembly includes a protrusion disposed to engage a preexisting hole in a workpiece positioned by the edge alignment guide. The second guide is coupled to the hole-spacing assembly and is configured to facilitate movement of the hole-spacing assembly along a second straight line perpendicular to the first straight line. The first biasing member is coupled to the hole-spacing assembly and is operative to exert a force on the hole-spacing assembly in a direction parallel to the second straight line. An actuator moves the hole-spacing assembly along the second straight line via the first biasing member.
