A system and method for a grinding disc, the grinding disc made out of three discs, capable of grinding in three positions such as the bottom, side, and top instead of only one position, the top disc and middle disc having an aperture such that a shaft having a washer and bar is connected to the discs by sliding the through the top disc whereby the washer is then received by the middle disc, the discs are then fastened together with the bar protruding from the discs whereby the bar may be connected to a tool such as drill, the grinding disc may then be used at multiple angles when connected to the tool.

A TIP MACHINING METHOD AND SYSTEM
A method of machining a tip profile of a blade for a turbomachine includes coupling the blade to a component of the turbomachine; supporting the component on a machining apparatus, the machining apparatus being configured to remove material from the blade according to a cutting path defined within a coordinate system of the machining apparatus, wherein the component is supported such that a datum axial end face of the component is aligned with a datum of the coordinate system of the machining apparatus; and machining the blade according to the cutting path. A system for machining a tip profile of a blade for a turbomachine accomplishes the method.
Cylindrical grinding method and cylindrical grinding machine
In a cylindrical grinding method, rough grinding is performed until a diameter of a workpiece reaches a rough-grinding setting value, and then, first finish grinding is performed until the diameter of the workpiece reaches a first finish setting value while measuring a shape deviation amount of an outer peripheral surface of the workpiece from a perfect round shape. The rough-grinding setting value in the next-time rough grinding step is changed based on a necessary time of the first finish grinding step to time at which the shape deviation amount reaches a first threshold or smaller in the first finish grinding step, and based on a total required time for the first finish grinding step.
Cylindrical grinding method and cylindrical grinding machine
In a cylindrical grinding method, rough grinding is performed until a diameter of a workpiece reaches a rough-grinding setting value, and then, first finish grinding is performed until the diameter of the workpiece reaches a first finish setting value while measuring a shape deviation amount of an outer peripheral surface of the workpiece from a perfect round shape. The rough-grinding setting value in the next-time rough grinding step is changed based on a necessary time of the first finish grinding step to time at which the shape deviation amount reaches a first threshold or smaller in the first finish grinding step, and based on a total required time for the first finish grinding step.
Retruing of a grinding wheel using EDM machine
A process for retruing a profile in an abrasive wheel is provided. A lathe table including an edged cutting tool is used for fixturing a grinding wheel having an outside metal edge and an abrasive matrix adjacent thereto for rotation along an axis compatible for lathe removal of material at at least the outside edge of said wheel. A predetermined amount of material along said edge with the edged lathe cutting tool is removed using the lathe cutting tool. A rotating electrical discharge profiling tool which is attached to an electrical discharge machine is used for profiling of the wheel by electrical discharge machining of the abrasive surface with the rotating electrode. The process uses a machine specifically designed for electrical discharge machining of the profile. The machine also has a mechanism cutting a predetermined profile into the electrode without removing it from the machine.
Retruing of a grinding wheel using EDM machine
A process for retruing a profile in an abrasive wheel is provided. A lathe table including an edged cutting tool is used for fixturing a grinding wheel having an outside metal edge and an abrasive matrix adjacent thereto for rotation along an axis compatible for lathe removal of material at at least the outside edge of said wheel. A predetermined amount of material along said edge with the edged lathe cutting tool is removed using the lathe cutting tool. A rotating electrical discharge profiling tool which is attached to an electrical discharge machine is used for profiling of the wheel by electrical discharge machining of the abrasive surface with the rotating electrode. The process uses a machine specifically designed for electrical discharge machining of the profile. The machine also has a mechanism cutting a predetermined profile into the electrode without removing it from the machine.
METHOD FOR TREATING A SURFACE OF A PISTON ROD
A method for treating a surface of a rod of a piston, the rod being made of high mechanical strength alloy with a minimum hardness above 45 HRC, includes a grinding procedure, and a polishing procedure performed until a mean roughness Ra?0.2 ?m is obtained. This results in a surface finish allowing the dynamic sealing requirements of the piston to be maintained without requiring chrome plating.
