A polishing apparatus which can keep a width of a polishing tool constant when a peripheral portion of a substrate is polished by the polishing tool is disclosed. The polishing apparatus includes a substrate holder 3 configured to hold a substrate W and to rotate the substrate W, and a pressing pad 50 configured to press a polishing tool 23 against a peripheral portion of the substrate W held by the substrate holder 3. The pressing pad 50 includes an elastic member 55 having a pressing surface 55a configured to press the polishing tool 23 against the peripheral portion of the substrate W and a support member 56 configured to support the elastic member 55. The support member 56 has a recess 57 formed in a front surface 56a of the support member 56, the elastic member 55 being capable of entering the recess 57.
Expandable handheld pneumatic belt grinder
An expandable handheld pneumatic belt grinder includes a body, an expansion component and an operation component. The body has a receiving space, a pneumatic motor, and a rotating wheel driven by the pneumatic motor. The expansion component has an expansion pipe and an expansion rod which are connected. The expansion rod is coupled to the receiving space. The operation component has a support rod with one end carrying a driven wheel and the other end coupled to the receiving space or expansion pipe. A grinding belt fits around the driven wheel and rotating wheel collectively. A user changes the distance between the rotating wheel and driven wheel by choosing between two options: coupling the support rod of operation component and the receiving space; and coupling the expansion rod of expansion component and the receiving space, and then coupling the support rod of operation component and the expansion pipe.

An expandable handheld pneumatic belt grinder includes a body, an expansion component and an operation component. SCARFING MACHINE
A scarfing machine includes a base and a pair of platens adjustably positioned on the base. The pair of platens are configured as an upper platen and a lower platen such that the upper platen is fixed to the base and the lower platen is adjustably positioned on the base, to receive and support a member for scarfing. Also, at least one platen of the pair of platens is hollow and is defined with an inlet port and an outlet port. The scarfing machine further includes a scarfing tool, extending from either side and along a length of at least one of the pair of platens, to scarf the member supported between the pair of platens. The scarfing machine also includes a cooling circuit, fluidly connectable to the inlet port and the outlet port of the at least one platen of the pair of platens.
ENDLESS ABRASIVE BELT FOR A SANDING MACHINE
An endless abrasive belt for a sanding machine includes a flexible support structure, on an upper side of the support structure, an active layer with a binder and abrasive grains held in the binder. A transponder device is affixed to an underside of the endless abrasive belt, the transponder device including an attachment region and a flag, the attachment region being glued onto the underside by an adhesive layer, the flag being held by the attachment region and projecting laterally away from the endless abrasive belt, and a transponder including a transponder chip and an aerial for a wireless data connection with the sanding machine is arranged in the flag.
BELT GRINDER
This disclosure relates to a belt grinder includes frame and first grinding assembly. The first grinding assembly includes transmission roller set, grinding belt and adjusting assembly. The transmission roller set includes driving roller and driven roller. Both the driving roller and the driven roller are rotatably disposed on the frame. The grinding belt is installed over the driving roller and the driven roller. The adjusting assembly includes rotatable component and contact rollers. The rotatable component is rotatably disposed on the frame. Rotation axis of the rotatable component is parallel to rotation axis of the driving roller. The contact rollers are rotatably disposed on the rotatable component. Contact rollers are different in shape. The rotatable component is rotatable with respect to the frame so as to force one of the contact rollers to contact or to be separated from the grinding belt.
Grinding or sanding machine
A grinding or sanding machine for grinding or sanding a surface of a workpiece includes a transportation device for transporting a work piece, a revolving grinding or sanding belt, and at least one pressure beam for exerting a pressure toward the transportation device. A plate is provided that is movable in a plane perpendicular to the direction in which pressure is exerted. The plate is disposed between the belt and the pressure beam. A drive device randomly moves the plate in plate movement directions in terms of either or both direction and speed.
POLISHING APPARATUS AND POLISHING METHOD
A polishing apparatus capable of forming a step-shaped recess having a right-angled cross section in an edge portion of a substrate, such as a wafer, is disclosed. The polishing apparatus includes: a substrate rotating device configured to rotate the substrate about a rotation axis; a first roller having a first circumferential surface configured to press a polishing tape against the edge portion of the substrate; and a second roller having a second circumferential surface in contact with the first circumferential surface. The second roller has a tape stopper surface that restricts movement of the polishing tape in a direction away from the rotation axis. The tape stopper surface is located radially outward of the first circumferential surface.
ROTATABLE EDGE GUIDE TO SUPPORT A CUTTING TOOL DURING A SHARPENING OPERATION
Apparatus for sharpening a cutting tool. In some embodiments, a tool sharpener includes an abrasive medium having an abrasive surface. A stationary tool support guide provides a guide surface that supports a side of the tool during presentation of a cutting edge of the tool against the abrasive surface. A rotatable edge guide has a roller member with a curvilinearly extending outer surface. The roller member is rotatable about an edge guide roller axis to engage, via rolling contact, the cutting edge during the presentation of the cutting edge against the abrasive surface.
