A welding process of an inflatable product is provided that includes using isolating members between first and second portions of weldable tensioning members to resist the first and second portions of the weldable tensioning structures being welded together during welding of the first portions to a first sheet of weldable material and welding of the second portions to a second sheet of weldable material.

Method for micromolding a polymeric membrane having a pore array

A method for micro-molding a polymeric membrane and including pouring a predetermined volume of curable polymer unto a micro-fabricated mold having a post array with pillars, and overlaying the polymer with a support substrate. A spacer, such as a rubber spacer, is placed in contact with the support substrate and a force is applied to an exposed side of the spacer to compress the support substrate and the polymer together. While applying the force, the polymer is cured on the mold for a predetermined time period and at a predetermined temperature to form a polymeric membrane having a pore array with a plurality of pores corresponding to the plurality of pillars of the post array. The polymeric membrane is removed from the support substrate.

Ultrasonic weld-bonding of thermoplastic composites

Methods for ultrasonic welding of thermoplastic polymer workpieces and assemblies made therefrom are provided. The method may comprise disposing a first region of a first thermoplastic polymer workpiece and a second region of a second thermoplastic polymer workpiece between an ultrasonic horn and an anvil of an ultrasonic welding device. The first workpiece has a preformed deformation and at least one of the first and/or second workpieces has an adhesive precursor applied thereto. The ultrasonic horn or anvil seats within the preformed deformation. Ultrasonic energy is applied from the ultrasonic horn to create a weld nugget between the first and second workpieces. The assembly thus formed has a green strength sufficient to be further processed immediately. The methods provide a robust weld joint with controlled adhesive bondline thickness.

Concrete dowel placement system and method of making the same
11623380 · 2023-04-11 · ·

A concrete dowel placement system and methods for making the same. The system allows for accurate and easy substantially-parallel or parallel placement of slip dowels within sections of concrete so that adjacent sections of concrete may be allowed to undergo thermal expansion and contraction while remaining in a common plane without cracking or faulting. The system includes a coupler and a sheath. The sheath is configured to be slidably extensible over the coupler and may be held to the coupler by friction. An outer surface of the sheath may be textured. Additionally, a method of constructing the concrete dowel placement system includes extruding material to form two tubes of different sizes. The tubes are then attached to each other, then material is extruded or injection molded to form a sheath. Alternatively, construction may include extruding material to form a tube, then removing some of the material from the tube in order to form a coupler.

Dialyzer manufacturing tool

A dialyzer housing manufacturing system includes a molding device configured to mold a dialyzer housing, and a tool coupled to a robotic arm and configured to retrieve the dialyzer housing from the molding device after the dialyzer housing is molded. The tool includes a frame, a first suction cup connected to a first portion of the frame, and a second suction cup connected to a second portion of the frame, the second suction cup being oriented about 70 degrees to about 110 degrees relative to the first suction cup.

Cosmetic containers and methods of manufacture

Methods of manufacturing and fixtures for manufacturing containers, particularly for holding cosmetic products, using thin-walled tubes. One end of a container may be formed using an integral process, such as insert molding, while the other end of the container is formed using assembly steps, such as welding, to form a completed cosmetics container from a thin-walled tube.

Production of molded bodies from an inorganic-organic hybrid polymer with high resolution using 3D printing, molded bodies with a high flexural strength and elastic modulus, and the use thereof for dental purposes

The invention relates to a method for producing a shaped body by means of a radiation-induced printing process according to the technique of the one-photon polymerization process, characterized in that the shaped body is produced by solidifying a liquid or viscous material which contains a polysiloxane component produced by hydrolytic condensation of one or more monomeric silanes having exclusively two or three hydrolyzable groups and at least one organically polymerizable radical being bonded to the silicon atom via carbon, and contains an initiator and/or catalyst for the radiation-induced polymerization of the organically polymerizable residue, and the solidification is effected by directing light onto a region of a surface of a substrate, whereby a layer of the material located there is polymerized and thereby solidified, whereupon further layers are successively solidified. Furthermore, the invention relates to a shaped body based on an organically polymerized silica (hetero)polycondensate, which was produced by organic polymerization of the aforementioned polysiloxane component, with superior mechanical properties.

System and apparatus for forming a collapsible structure made from expandable material

A mould for forming a collapsible container from an expandable material, the container comprising, at least a base and two pairs of a side walls extending at right angles from opposing sides of the base, the mould comprising: a first mould member and a second mould member movable with respect to each other between an open and a closed moulding position to define a mould cavity; and a plurality of anvils mounted on a rear surface of at least one of the first mould member and/or second mould member, each anvil being movable so as to be extended into the mould cavity so as to form one or more hinges in the expandable material at predetermined locations within the mould cavity; wherein the mould cavity defined by the first mould member and the second mould member is a three-dimensional representation of an inside-out configuration of the assembled container.
