This disclosure relates to an article (e.g., a vapor-permeable, substantially water-impermeable multilayer article) that includes a nonwoven substrate and a film supported by the nonwoven substrate. The film includes a polyolefin, a nanoclay, and a pore-forming filler.
Vapor-permeable, substantially water-impermeable multilayer article
This disclosure relates to an article that includes a nonwoven substrate, a first film supported by the nonwoven substrate, and a second film such that the first film is between the nonwoven substrate and the second film. The first film includes a first polymer and a pore-forming filler. The difference between a surface energy of the first film and a surface energy of the nonwoven substrate is at most about 10 mN/m. The second film includes a second polymer capable of absorbing and desorbing moisture and providing a barrier to aqueous fluids.
Extruder unit and dryer equipped therewith
The invention relates to an extrude unit for a dryer (2) for biomass, in particular slurry, wherein the extruder unit (1) has a surface section (4) for the biomass to pass through and a plurality of apertures (3), wherein the extruder unit (1) comprises a base support (5) which is connected by means of a connecting section (6) to a driving element (7) and can be driven by means of the driving element (7) about an axis of rotation (8) and relative to the surface section (4), wherein the base support (5) comprises at least one support arm (9) having at least one scraper blade (10) which during a rotation of the base support (5) follows the shape of the face of the surface section (4) facing the scraper blade (10). According to the invention the base support (5) also comprises at least one breaker element (11) having at least one scraper blade (10) which during a rotation of the base support (5) also follows the shape of the face of the surface section (4) facing the scraper blade (10) and during the rotation of the base support (5) effects a crushing of constituents contained in the biomass which are retained by the surface section (4). The invention further relates to a dryer having at least one corresponding extruder unit.
Food container top with integrally formed utensil
A molded article comprising a food container top, and a method for producing same, is disclosed. The method includes providing a mold for forming the molded article, wherein the mold defines a frame, a utensil located substantially coplanar with the frame and a frangible link between the frame and the utensil, providing an in-mold lidding film having a heat activatable lower surface, positioning the in-mold lidding film adjacent to an interior molding surface of the mold, molding the molded article from a heated thermoplastic resin contained within the mold, whereby the heated thermoplastic resin contacts a perimeter of the heat-activatable lower surface of the in-mold lidding film, and the perimeter of the heat-activatable lower surface of the in-mold lidding film is molded to the frame of the article such that the in-mold lidding film hermetically seals an opening defined by the frame.
Multi-layer film, decorative molding film and molded body
A multi-layer film having excellent surface hardness and transparency, a small heat shrinkage factor and such high brittleness that it is easily trimmed after decorative molding. The multi-layer film comprises a layer (layer A) which contains a polycarbonate resin having a viscosity average molecular weight of 13,000 or more to less than 20,000 and layers (layer B-1 and layer B-2) which contain an acrylic resin and are formed on both sides of the layer A, respectively, wherein the total thickness of the multi-layer film is 50 to 200 μm, and the thickness of the layer A accounts for 5 to 30 $ of the total thickness.
Methods, systems, and apparatuses for manufacturing rotational spun appliances
The present disclosure relates to methods and systems for manufacturing rotational spun materials. The rotational spun materials are medical appliances or other prostheses made of, constructed from, covered or coated with rotational spun materials, such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE).
METHODS OF MANUFACTURING A DOUBLE-WALLED TUBE
A method for manufacturing a double-walled tube is provided. The method comprises the extrusion of two tubes wherein one tube is inside the other. A first mold is provided around the outside of the outer tube and a support provided along the inside of the inner tube. Fluid is then injected into the cavity between the inner and outer tubes to mold the outer tube against the first mold.
POLYPROPYLENE FILMS WITH IMPROVED OPTICS AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES
Polypropylene mono-layer films produced with blown film or cast film technology comprising a blend of: a) 75.0 to 98.0 wt %, based on the blend, of a random propylene copolymer and b) 2.0 to 15.0 wt %, based on the blend, of an ethylene based plastomer having a density according to ISO 1183D of 0.915 g/cm.sup.3 or below and an MFR.sub.2 according to ISO 1133 (190° C.; 2.16 kg) in the range of 2.0 to 30 g/10 min, wherein the film has simultaneously improved optic properties as well as tear resistance compared to random propylene copolymer based films without ethylene based plastomer.
DEVICE FOR TWISTING A FIBRILLATED STRIP
A device for twisting a flat, fibrillated strip for producing artificial turf is disclosed. The device includes a hollow shaft having a central axis of rotation, a deflecting element that is mounted on the hollow shaft and that has a swing region, and a limiting element that is disposed on the hollow shaft. The hollow shaft allows the strip to be continuously passed through a hollow space of the hollow shaft. The deflecting element includes a swing pivot that is offset from the central axis. When the hollow shaft is rotated around its central axis, the swing region of the deflecting element is swung outward from the central axis to a swung-out position. As a result, the strip is rested against the swing region. When the deflecting element is in its swung-out position, the strip is rested against the limiting element that limits the outward deflection of the strip.
