A CMP pad conditioner comprises a plurality of abrasive segments. Each abrasive segment includes a segment blank and an abrasive layer attached to the segment blank, the abrasive layer including a superhard abrasive material. A pad conditioner substrate is also provided. Each of the plurality of abrasive segments is permanently affixed to the pad conditioner substrate in an orientation that enables removal of material from a CMP pad by the abrasive layer as the pad conditioner and the CMP pad are moved relative to one another.

DOUBLE-SIDED POLISHING OR SANDING MEMBER FOR ATTACHMENT TO A HAND-GUIDED POWER TOOL AND POWER TOOL WITH SUCH A POLISHING OR SANDING MEMBER
20210308824 · 2021-10-07 ·

The invention refers to a double-sided polishing or sanding member (24) for releasable attachment to a hand-guided power tool (2). The polishing or sanding member (24) has an essentially disc-shaped form with an areal extension (26). A reinforcement plate (28) is located inside the polishing or sanding member (24) in the areal extension (26). The reinforcement plate (28) has a central attachment portion (30) for releasable attachment of the polishing or sanding member (24) to the power tool (2). It is suggested that the central attachment portion (30) comprises at least one magnetic element (32) adapted for interaction with at least one respective magnetic element (34) directly or indirectly attached to a tool shaft (14) of the power tool (2) in order to hold and secure the polishing or sanding member (24) in respect to the tool shaft (14).

A polishing tool with a carrier comprising a polishing surface on which a polishing paste is applied at least in some areas, wherein the polishing surface consists of a nonwoven fabric, the polishing paste is in a solid state at room temperature and is applied on the polishing surface to be covered in an amount of 0.08 g/cm.sup.2 to 0.30 g/cm.sup.2.

Three dimensional printing of cermet or cemented carbide

The present invention relates to a powder mixture for three-dimensional (3D) printing of a cermet or a cemented carbide body. The powder mixture includes 65-85 wt % of porous cemented carbide or cermet particles of a median particle size (D50) of 10-35 μm, and 15-35 wt % of a dense cemented carbide or cermet particles of a median particle size (D50) of 3-10 μm. The present invention also relates to a method of making a cermet or cemented carbide body, the method including the steps of forming the powder mixture, 3D printing a body using the powder mixture and a printing binder and thereby forming a 3D printed cermet or cemented carbide green body and sintering the green body and to form a cermet or cemented carbide body.

NONWOVEN ABRASIVE ARTICLES HAVING ELECTROSTATICALLY-ORIENTED ABRASIVE PARTICLES AND METHODS OF MAKING SAME

Abrasive articles including a nonwoven fibrous substrate having a plurality of fibers, and a multiplicity of shaped abrasive particles, each shaped abrasive particle adhered to a corresponding fiber, each shaped abrasive particle having a length (L) and a width (W) determined in a direction substantially orthogonal to the length, the ratio of the length to the width defining an aspect ratio (L/W) of at least 1.1, each abrasive particle is oriented relative to its corresponding fiber, and more than 50% of the abrasive particles are oriented with respect to their corresponding fiber such that the abrasive particle length extends generally outwardly away from a surface of the corresponding fiber as determined visually using the Orientation Test. The shaped abrasive particles may have the geometric shape of a polygonal prism having two faces and at least three sides thereon. Methods of making the abrasive articles are also disclosed.
