ABRASIVE ARTICLE WITH ANIONIC WATER SOLUBILIZING MATERIAL AND METHOD OF MAKING

An abrasive article includes backing material, binder comprising an anionic water solubilizing material provided on at least a portion of the backing material and abrasive particles provided on at least a portion of the backing material. A method of making such an abrasive article comprises the steps of providing a backing material, applying a first binder containing an anionic water solubilizing material to the backing material, and applying abrasive particles to the backing material.

Latterally-stretched netting bearing abrasive particles, and method for making

A laterally-stretched netting comprising a patterned abrasive layer on a first major surface thereof, and methods of making.

Grinding wheel

A grinding wheel includes an elastomerically deformable supporting layer, at least a first metallic surface fastened to the elastomerically deformable supporting layer, the metalic surface being an elastically deformable metal foil and includes abrasive particles attached to the at least one metalic surface. The particles may include at least one of: cubic boron nitride or diamonds. The metal foil may have a thickness of less than 1 mm. The abrasive particles may be bonded galvanically on the metallic surface. The abrasive particles may be bonded on the metalic surface in a plurality of areas having regions without abrasive particles therebetween. The metal foil may be adhesively bonded onto the elastomerically deformable supporting layer. The elastomerically deformable supporting layer may be plastic foam. The elastomerically deformable supporting layer may be adhesively bonded onto a metallic supporting body.

Grindstone

A grindstone that enables grinding, polishing, super-finish polishing by using the same grindstone, without clogging even if the grindstone is being used continuously, in which a grinding/polishing section for processing a workpiece has a honeycomb structure formed by arranging polygonal prisms with no clearance therebetween. The grindstone includes the grindstone columns consisting of abrasive grains and binder and having an axis in depth direction of grinding/polishing surface, which are disposed on intersections or wall portions of the honeycomb structure. Porous elastomer is disposed inside the honeycomb structure, thus making it possible to perform a super-finish polishing.

NOVEL SP2-SP3 HYBRID CRYSTALLINE CARBON AND ITS PREPARATION PROCESS

The present disclosure belongs to the technical filed of new carbon materials and relates to a novel sp.sup.2-sp.sup.3 hybrid crystalline carbon named Gradia and its preparation process. A novel sp.sup.2-sp.sup.3 hybrid carbon named Gradia is synthesized using sp.sup.2 hybrid carbon as raw materials under high temperature and high pressure. The basic structural units of Gradia are composed of sp.sup.2 hybrid graphite-like structural units and sp.sup.3 hybrid diamond-like structural units. Gradia disclosed in the present disclosure is a class of new sp.sup.2-sp.sup.3 hybrid carbon allotrope, whose crystal structure can vary with the widths and/or crystallographic orientation relationships of internal sp.sup.2 and/or sp.sup.3 structural units.

Compositions and Methods of Additive Manufacturing of Polishing Pads

A system, formulation, and method for additive manufacturing of a polishing layer of a polishing pad. The formulation includes a urethane acrylate oligomer based on a difunctional polyol or difunctional polythiol. The techniques includes selecting the difunctional polyol or the difunctional polythiol to affect a property of the polishing layer. The formulation also includes a monomer and a photoinitiator. The viscosity of the formulation is applicable for 3D printing of the polishing layer.
