The device includes a shaft plate bracket that can be fastened to the ice fishing house floor, allowing adjustable placement within the ice hole. In its locked position, the device keeps the spring compressed until a fish is reeled close, whereupon the user can unlock it, allowing the spring to extend the shaft and raise the net, effectively trapping the fish.
