GRINDING MACHINE FOR GRINDING A SURFACE OF AN OBJECT
A grinding machine for grinding a surface of an object has at least one grinding tool with a movably mounted abrasive carrier, and a plurality of abrasive elements attached to the abrasive carrier. An abrasive driving device drives the grinding tool in a first relative movement to the object. A conveying device conveys the object with a second relative movement to the grinding tool through the grinding machine. The plurality of abrasive elements each have a plurality of first surfaces provided with first abrasive bodies for lying against the surface of the object in a first direction of movement of the abrasive carrier and a plurality of second surfaces provided with second abrasive bodies for lying against the surface of the object in a second direction of movement of the abrasive carrier opposite to the first direction of movement of the abrasive carrier. The abrasive drive device is adapted to be operated in the first direction of movement in which the first surfaces of the abrasive elements are in grinding engagement with the surface of the object and in the second direction of movement in which the second surfaces of the abrasive elements are in grinding engagement with the surface of the object.

Further embodiments include a depth guide configured for use with an abrading tool which includes a abrading wheel and a means for rotating the abrading wheel, the depth guide comprising a mounting member securable to the means for rotating and a pair of freely rotatable, spaced apart guide wheels rotatably attached to the mounting member. Particular embodiments further include a method for preparing a portion of a tire for repair.

Particular embodiments provide an abrading tool for abrading a surface of a tire, the tool comprising means for rotating an abrading wheel, an abrading wheel rotatably attached to the means for rotating, and a depth guide secured to the means for rotating, wherein the depth guide includes a pair of freely rotatable, spaced apart guide wheels. Further embodiments include a depth guide configured for use with an abrading tool which includes a abrading wheel and a means for rotating the abrading wheel, the depth guide comprising a mounting member securable to the means for rotating and a pair of freely rotatable, spaced apart guide wheels rotatably attached to the mounting member. APPARATUS FOR REMOVING AN ABRASIVE ELEMENT IN A MACHINE FOR WORKING SURFACES AND RELATED REMOVAL METHOD
An apparatus for removing an abrasive element having a perimeter edge delimiting an abrasive surface in a machine for finishing surfaces comprising a support body for removably engaging the abrasive element. The support body and the abrasive element are, respectively, provided, at respective engagement surfaces of first and second engagement members configured to move, from an engagement configuration to a disengagement configuration, and vice versa. A displacement device is, furthermore, provided to move the support body in the space according to at least 1 degree of freedom. A removal group is, furthermore, provided comprising at least a removal member adapted to rotate about a rotation axis and provided with a removal surface. This is adapted to engage the second engagement members to cause the first and second engagement members to move from the engagement configuration to the disengagement configuration.
SANDING DEVICE
A sanding device includes a rotatable structure with one or a plurality of resilient extensions that extend outward from a front face of the rotatable structure. A holding structure holds an arch of sandpaper over each resilient extension such that the sandpaper arch covers a distal end of the resilient extension.
Rotary abrasive brush for deburring and method of manufacturing
A rotary tool containing a core hub with helical groove on its outer surface filled in with continuous abrasive filament formed by folding of a pre-cut abrasive sheet including multiple bristle like straps extending radially from the hub. The method of manufacturing includes the steps of providing a hub, and forming a helical groove with inverted V-shaped cross-section along its cylindrical surface. An abrasive element is wound around the hub so that the folded edge is fed in the V-grove and is buckled inside the groove providing, along with securing it by sufficient pre-tension of the abrasive element, a secure anchoring of the abrasive element through locking of the buckled edge. The abrasive filament is formed from a roll of abrasive cloth as one continuous piece using a cutting operation and is provided with center-line perforations. These perforations assist folding the filament by providing it with discrete and desired flexibility as well as weakening it in such way that it assists the process of folded edge buckling inside the groove during winding and therefore forms a tight anchoring junction with the hub without need for an adhesive.
