ABRASIVE ARTICLE AND METHOD OF FORMING
An abrasive article comprising a substrate having an elongated body and abrasive particles attached to the elongated body, the content of the abrasive particles oscillates along the length of the body between a minimum and maximum value, and the minimum content is greater than 0.
Sanding Cloths
A sanding cloth comprising a substrate sheet of flexible and pliable material having a first side and a second side. An amount of first adhesive is applied to the first side of the sheet. A first grit material is applied to the first adhesive wherein the sheet is flexible and easily pliable and conformable to tight fine spaces that are sanded when preparing trim moldings, furniture refinishing and similar finish applications. Adhesive and grit can be applied to one or both sides of the cloth.
Abrasive articles including conformable coatings and polishing system therefrom
The present disclosure relates to abrasive articles including conformable coatings, e.g. a hydrophobic coating, methods of making and polishing systems therefrom. The present disclosure provides an abrasive layer, having a hydrophobic exterior surface, including at least one of (i) a plurality of individual diamond particles and (ii) a plurality of engineered features having a conformable diamond layer and; a conformable hydrophobic layer in contact with and at least partially coating at least one of the plurality of individual diamond particles and the conformable diamond layer and, wherein the conformable hydrophobic layer includes diamond like glass and forms the hydrophobic exterior surface and the contact angle of the hydrophobic exterior surface is greater than 110 degrees.
PACKAGED ABRASIVE ARTICLES
A packaged abrasive article comprises an abrasive article hermetically sealed within a bag. The abrasive article comprises abrasive particles at least partially retained in a phenolic binder. The bag comprises a multilayer barrier film that comprises: a first substrate layer; a first polymerized acrylic layer disposed on the first substrate layer; an aluminosilicate layer disposed on the first polymerized acrylic layer; and a second polymerized acrylic layer disposed on the aluminosilicate layer.
Abrasive film
Provided is an abrasive film not likely to cause an end face defect of an optical fiber connector due to variation in load conditions during polishing, while providing a great grinding force. The abrasive film comprises a substrate film and an abrasive layer overlaid thereon, the abrasive layer comprising abrasive particles and a binder therefor and a wear quantity of the abrasive layer being from 10 mg to 25 mg. A content of the abrasive particles in the abrasive layer is preferably no less than 85% by mass. The abrasive particles preferably comprise first abrasive particles (primary particle diameter: of no less than 10 nm and less than 50 nm), and second abrasive particles (primary particle diameter: no less than 50 nm and less than 250 nm). An average thickness of the abrasive layer is preferably from 4 m to 15 m. The abrasive particles are preferably silica particles.
Abrasive article and related methods
Provided are abrasive articles, and related methods, that include a flexible abrasive layer having opposed first and second major surfaces, a foam backing bonded to the second major surface, the foam backing being resiliently compressible, and a plurality of slits disposed on the first major surface and penetrating through the flexible abrasive layer and at least partially through the foam backing. In further disclosed embodiments, the abrasive article includes, a flexible abrasive layer having opposed first and second major surfaces, a structured member extending across the second major surface of the flexible abrasive layer, where the structured member and the flexible abrasive layer have respective three-dimensional patterns of discrete, isolated wells that correspond to each other, and a foam backing extending across a major surface of the structured member opposite the flexible abrasive layer, the foam backing being resiliently compressible.
POROUS MATERIAL FOR POLISHING AND POLISHING TOOL HAVING THE SAME
An object of the present invention is to provide a porous material for polishing in which, during a polishing operation, it is possible to keep a proportion between abrasive grains in contact with an object to be polished and a resin portion in contact with the object to be polished within a certain range, even if an unskilled person attaches a polishing tool to an automated device and uses it, there is no need for complicated adjustment to stabilize the device, whereby it is possible to obtain precise surface accuracy. The above object is achieved by a porous material for polishing including an elastic foam having anisotropy, a polymer, and abrasive grains.
Apparatuses, device, and methods for cleaning tester interface contact elements and support hardware
A cleaning material for predictably cleaning the contact elements and support hardware of a tester interface, such as a probe card and a test socket, has a cleaning pad layer, one or more intermediate layers having a set of predetermined characteristics and having a plurality of abrasive particles.
Polishing pad and process for producing same
Provided is a polishing pad which is capable of providing a high flatness to a polishing workpiece and suppressing the formation of scratches, and a method therefor. The polishing pad comprises a foamed urethane sheet on the surface which includes closed cells and open cells and which satisfies the following requirements: (1) an open cell ratio is 20-80 vol % where the total volume of closed cells and open cells is taken as 100 vol %, (2) the ratio [tan (wet/dry) ratio] of a loss factor tan in a water-absorption state to that in a dry state is 1.3-1.7, the loss factors being measured according to JIS K7244-4 with an initial load of 20 g at a measuring frequency of 1 Hz at a temperature of 26 C. in a tensile mode over a strain range from 0.01 to 0.1%, and (3) the Shore DO hardness according to ASTM D2240 is 60-80.
ABRASIVE ARTICLE AND A PROCESS FOR PREPARATION THEREOF
The present invention relates to abrasive articles, more specifically to coated abrasive article with non-woven backing and a method of their preparation.
