CONTROLLED RELEASE MICROCAPSULES
A method of forming microcapsules having improved physical properties and release control as well as the microcapsules formed by the process wherein the capsule wall is formed by the concurrent polymerization of monomers, oligomer and/or prepolymers on the inside of the capsule wall and different monomers, oligomers and/or prepolymers on the exterior of the capsule wall as it forms.
Single-serving beverage machine with high-capacity and compact cooling-carbonation system
A beverage machine system that includes: an insulated potable liquid storage tank having an interior volume; a liquid carbonator spaced within the interior volume of the insulated potable liquid storage tank and submerged therein; a high pressure potable liquid pump configured to pump potable liquid from the interior volume of the insulated potable liquid storage tank through a potable liquid conduit to a spray nozzle within an interior volume of the liquid carbonator; and a cooling coil positioned in a spaced apart relationship but wound around the carbonator such that the cooling coil does not physically touch an exterior surface of the carbonator submersed within the chilled potable liquid and the space between the cooling coil and the carbonator is at least substantially free of any other structure other than periodic frozen potable liquid adjacent the cooling coil.
COMPLEXES OF CELECOXIB AND ITS SALTS AND DERIVATIVES, PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION THEREOF AND PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING THEM
Disclosed herein are stable complexes with controlled particle size, increased apparent solubility and increased dissolution rate comprising as active compound Celecoxib, its salts, or derivatives thereof, which is useful in the treatment of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, acute pain especially in cancer related acute pain, primary dysmenorrhea. More specifically, the complexes possess instantaneous redispersibility, increased apparent solubility and permeability that provide faster onset of action for acute pain relief and lower GI related side effects. Further disclosed are methods of formulating and manufacturing the complexes described herein, pharmaceutical compositions, and uses and methods of treatment.
Firefighting foam generator
Embodiments described herein relate to firefighting foam generators. The generators may include a receptacle for receiving liquid. A gas supply may be provided for supplying gas into the liquid to create foam. At least one turbulence creator may be provided for creating turbulence in the receptacle. Advantageously, the firefighting foam generators create turbulence to assist with mixing the gas and liquid when creating the foam. The embodiments provide for improved mixing and evenness of foam, without foam flooding, when compared with known foam generators. The embodiments are also simple to manufacture when compared with known foam generators.
Computerized Method and System for Enabling User Located Production of a Mixture of Substances
The invention relates to user located production of a mixture of substances (3). Stored (S1) in a computer database (1) is assignment information (52) relating to a plurality of storage assemblies (51), each storage assembly comprising a plurality of storage elements, each storage element having stored a substance of a particular type, the assignment information (52) providing for each storage element an assignment of a property of the respective storage element to the substance stored in the respective storage element. Determined is first assignment information (52) of a first storage assembly (51) being arranged in a user located production device (2). Provided is a mixture definition (3) defining the mixture of substances. Determined is production information based on the first assignment information (52) and based on the mixture definition (3), the production information including a definition of a subset of storage elements of the first storage assembly (51), the production information enabling the production of the mixture of substances (3) with the user located production device (2).
Device ad method for loading a liquid with a gas
A device for loading an in particular higher-viscosity liquid, such as a silicon resin, for example, with air or another gas. The device has a pressure vessel receiving the liquid and the gas, in which pressure vessel an agitator, having a drive shaft set through the pressure vessel at least in part, is arranged. In order to enable the particularly fast and homogeneous intermixing of the liquid and gas, the drive shaft is arranged in a conveying pipe and drives a conveying organ, in particular a screw conveyor, which transports the liquid through the conveying pipe to at least one outlet, and there is an running-off surface underneath the outlet from the conveying pipe for the liquid flowing out of the outlet. Upon actuation of the agitator, the liquid is thus not only well intermixed together with the air already received therein, but at the same time conveyed through the conveying pipe to the running-off surface, on which it can discharge in a thin layer and has a particularly large exchange area with the gas as a result.
PROCESS AND APPARATUS FOR RECOVERING HYDROCRACKED SOFT PITCH
Settling unconverted pitch from a SHC reactor effluent before fractionation improves efficiency of fractionation of slurry hydrocracked products. The recycle of soft pitch to the SHC reactor results in improved reactor operation by avoiding the recycle of lighter products which vaporize in the reactor to occupy reactor space and the recycle of hard pitch which will not convert. The settling step facilitated by mixing with a solvent can achieve a separation between soft pitch and hard pitch not achievable in a fractionation column.
Pharmaceutical compositions
The present invention relates to the field of methods for providing pharmaceutical compositions comprising poorly water-soluble drugs. In particular the present invention relates to compositions comprising stable, amorphous hybrid nanoparticles, comprising at least one protein kinase inhibitor and at least one polymeric stabilizing and matrix-forming component, useful in pharmaceutical compositions and in therapy.
