Techniques are disclosed for systems and methods to provide casting guidance for users of mobile structures, including watercraft. A casting guidance system includes a sonar transducer assembly and a logic device configured to communicate with the sonar transducer assembly. The sonar transducer assembly is adapted to be mounted to a mobile structure and placed in a body of water. The logic device is configured to identify one or more underwater targets in sonar data received from the sonar transducer assembly, determine casting guidance parameters corresponding to the one or more identified underwater targets, and generate at least one casting guidance identifier based, at least in part, on the determined casting guidance parameters. Subsequent user input, the sonar data, and/or the casting guidance parameters may be used to adjust a steering actuator, a propulsion system thrust, and/or other operational systems of the mobile structure.

A manifold is positioned along an outer surface of the spaced apart bars for directing a flow of water through the passageway at a predetermined position. Fish approaching the apparatus are naturally attracted to the outward flow of water past the ring frame and will enter the passageway as they will be swimming against the current. Once the fish passes the manifold, the fish is subject to the suction caused by the fish transfer pump and drawn into the suction pipe for transfer.

CATCH MONITORING SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Traps are monitored for catch, by-catch, and environmental conditions. A catch sensor is configured to detect a catch of animals or marine life caught in a trap. An environmental sensor is configured to sense an environmental condition associated with a location of the trap. A trap monitor is configured to collect and transmit catch data indicative of the detected catch and environmental data indicated of the environmental condition to a communications subsystem for distribution to a remote device or a device in close proximity to the communications subsystem.

A submersible lantern is anchored to the sea floor and kept upright by a float and a countersink weight. The lantern emits multiple patterns of green and white light at specific frequencies and intensities that repel catfish while causing shrimp to surface. The lantern has an elongated body, and includes a float and weight to vertically orient the lantern underwater so that it emits light 360 degrees around the lantern body. A push button switch along with a PCB board cycles the lights and power level to the lights based on the particular application. A wireless circuit is used for remote operation via a mobile phone or other wireless device. The lantern can be used both in the sea and on land, and includes a two-part power connector to connect to various conventional power sources.

The process quickly decelerates the fish in a water tank to their original speed of between 1.5 to 3 feet/second depending on pumping lift for a 10 inch diameter SILKSTREAM pump. As the fish guiding tube enters the tank, it is surrounded by a smooth diverging cone slowing the water speed to the original fish speed. The fish are then guided by the tubular assembly away from the water and lice into a second SILKSTREAM intake. The current changes within the SILKSTREAM Coanda effect pump provide delousing of the fish by orientating the fish in a forward direction as the fish pass through the pump.

Crawfish traps having sealable entryways and a sealable baiting riser allow entry of crawfish into the traps, attracted by bait, during an unpressurized phase, and subsequent application of water pressure at a pump end of the system, which seals the entryways and baiting riser and flushes trapped crawfish through the piping and other traps toward a collection hopper at a collection end of the system. This crawfish aquaculture trap and flush system and method does not require manual harvesting, does not require a boat and boat operator, and does not cause boat-related damage to the fields.
