Selectively Lockable Box and Method of Use
A selectively lockable box and a method of using the box are described. The locking structure for the box may have a first bar, a second bar and a lock housing. The first and second bar engage with one another, and the lock, to lock the box. The first bar may be horizontally oriented to lock a box lid, and the second bar may be a vertically oriented to lock other access areas of the box.
Rotary actuated axial clamp
Disclosed is a rotary actuated axial clamp that includes a primary fixture, having a rotatable primary clamp, having primary clamp fingers that engage secondary clamp fingers on a stationary secondary clamp. The primary fixture is attached to a positioner, while the secondary fixture is attached to the work piece. Different secondary fixtures can be utilized to fit the shape and size of the work piece, while maintaining a secondary clamp that is able to engage the primary clamp of the primary fixture. The primary fixture can consequently be utilized with numerous different work pieces having different shapes and sizes by simply modifying a secondary fixture to adapt to the size and shape of the work piece. Roller engagement of the primary clamp and secondary clamp reduces the force required to clamp and unclamp the primary and secondary fixtures. This reduces problems associated with attaching a work piece to a positioner.
Rotary actuated axial clamp
Disclosed is a rotary actuated axial clamp that includes a primary fixture, having a rotatable primary clamp, having primary clamp fingers that engage secondary clamp fingers on a stationary secondary clamp. The primary fixture is attached to a positioner, while the secondary fixture is attached to the work piece. A clamping device for clamping at least two components which are to be joined together includes a first carrier structure, a second carrier structure which is connectable to the first carrier structure by a connector, and at least one positioning device which is provided on the first or the second carrier structure in order to position the components to be joined together at a defined position with reference to the first or the second carrier structure. A method for designing a clamping device for clamping at least two components to be joined together includes steps for designing these various elements.
Twin clamp and method for simultaneously clamping two elongate profile segments
The invention relates to a twin clamp, comprising two receptacles (61, 62), each of which has two movable clamping jaws (611, 612, 621, 622) and by means of each of which an elongate profile segment (71, 72) having a circular cross-section can be clamped in the contact section, each elongate profile segment having a center axis (D71, D72) and an outside diameter, wherein two clamping jaws (611, 612, 621, 622) of different receptacles (61, 62) are coupled to one another via a respective differential gearing (41, 42) and two clamping jaws (611, 612, 621, 622) of the same receptacle (61, 62) are coupled to one another via a synchronous gearing (51, 52) and the position of the center axes (D71, D72) of the clamped elongate profile segments (71, 72) is independent of the size of the outside diameters of the elongate profile segments (71, 72).
Clamping system for securing a work piece to a fixture
The present invention is directed to a clamping system for supporting a work piece in position for receiving a machining operation and more particularly to a clamping system for supporting a work piece for receiving a machining operation whereby the work piece is held in position by exerting pressure against two or more locations along the surface of the work piece and that the supporting force at least one location is directed against the work piece in at least two vectors. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the clamping system of the subject invention is effective for supporting more than one work pieces in position for receiving a manufacturing operation.
Pallet device, machine tool and machining system which clamp workpiece
A pallet device which can prevent a hook fixed to a pallet from interfering with a workpiece or a tool for a machine tool. The pallet device includes a pallet including a pallet main body which clamps a workpiece, and a replacement hook movably provided in the pallet main body, the replacement hook being movable between a projection position at which the replacement hook projects outside the pallet main body and a retraction position to which the replacement hook is retracted from the projection position to the pallet main body, and a jig to and from which the pallet is attached and detached.
UNIVERSAL TOOL HOLDER
A universal holder configured for use with a machine tool is provided. The universal holder includes a base, a clamp assembly supported on the base for securing the machine tool in a relatively fixed orientation, and a locking assembly supported on the base and movable along a horizontal axis defined therethrough for lockingly engaging the machine tool when it is positioned on the base.
Vise
A vise includes a base plate that receives a fixed jaw and a pusher jaw. The fixed jaw receiving portion of the base plate includes particular stations for receiving the fixed jaw, the particular stations defined by at least a latitudinal slot at each particular station, each latitudinal slot configured for receiving a latitudinal tab extending from the bottom of the fixed jaw. A longitudinal slot traversing a length of the fixed jaw receiving portion of the base plate may receive a longitudinal tab extending from the bottom of the fixed jaw. Double-threaded lock bolts secure the fixed jaw to the base plate once the tabs are engaged with the slots of the base plate. The pusher jaw portion of the base plate includes a worm shaft, a threaded portion of the worm shaft engaging a worm shaft mating portion milled from the bottom of the pusher jaw. The pusher jaw portion of the base plate also includes a slide bar cavity arrangement into which slide bars at the bottom of the pusher jaw slide previous to engagement of the worm shaft with the worm shaft mating portion of the pusher jaw.
Safety Handle Apparatus
A safety handle for use with conventional pipe tongs. The safety handle has a hand grip, as well as upper and lower flange members. The flange members beneficially define a recess for receiving (and protecting) a user's thumb. At least one attachment cavity is provided for receiving, and securely attaching the safety handle to, a tong jaw member.
