Plant Treatment Based on Morphological and Physiological Measurements
20170219711 · 2017-08-03 ·

A system for plant parameter detection, including: a plant morphology sensor having a first field of view and configured to record a morphology measurement of a plant portion and an ambient environment adjacent the plant, a plant physiology sensor having a second field of view and configured to record a plant physiology parameter measurement of a plant portion and an ambient environment adjacent the plant, wherein the second field of view overlaps with the first field of view; a support statically coupling the plant morphology sensor to the physiology sensor, and a computing system configured to: identify a plant set of pixels within the physiology measurement based on the morphology measurement; determine physiology values for each pixel of the plant set of pixels; and extract a growth parameter based on the physiology values.

SEQUENTIAL AND CYCLIC AEROPONIC SYSTEMS AND METHODS
20170215357 · 2017-08-03 ·

A system for aeroponic plant growth comprises a pump connected to a suction manifold and a delivery manifold, a two-dimensional array of N growing units, and an electronic cyclic sequencer. The array comprises X rows and Y columns, having N/X growing units in each row and N/Y growing units in each column. Each column comprises a suction collector plumbing section, a delivery distributor plumbing section, a suction solenoid valve, and a delivery solenoid valve. The suction collector plumbing section, delivery distributor plumbing section, suction solenoid valve, and delivery solenoid valve are connected to each of the growing units in that column. The sequencer is operatively connected to each of the suction solenoid valves and delivery solenoid valves. Each of the N growing units comprises an enclosure containing a spray manifold and a lid assembly. The suction manifold and delivery manifold are connected to each of the columns of growing units.

An apparatus for use in growing a plant crop, the apparatus comprising a structure enclosing a volume in which a crop can be maintained in a controlled environment during the growth of a crop, the structure housing two endless belts in spaced-apart parallel relationship and mounted for synchronous motion about a closed path, a trough to removably retain a nutrient solution for a crop, suspension means to enable a container holding a crop to be suspended between and move with the belts, the paths of the belts being such as to at least partially immerse the container in nutrient solution and feed a crop at least once on a complete belt circuit.

METHOD FOR LESS DENSELY POPULATED CULTIVATION OF MONARDA FISTULOSA FOR PRODUCTION OF THYMOQUINONE
20170208747 · 2017-07-27 ·

A method for cultivating Monarda for production of thymoquinone includes plug planting Monarda fistulosa and/or Monarda didyma plants between about 24,000 and about 44,000 plants per acre. The cultivation method produces plants bearing oil without weed contamination and reduces herbicide use due to production of natural herbicides by the monarda plants. The method results in increased production of essential oils including thymoquinone and thymohydroquinone and may include propogating plants from clones to obtain thymohydroquinone at levels up to about 40% or more of the recovered oils.

METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PREPARING AND PRODUCING PEANUT SPROUTS

Method of preparing and producing high-protein peanut sprouts is disclosed. A system to produce peanut sprouts is also disclosed.

Method for Separating Swine Waste
20170208771 · 2017-07-27 ·

A method for separating swine waste using at least one perforated conveyor belt and at least one fluid trough. A quantity of swine waste is collected through a slatted floor of a barn into at least one funneling channel. The quantity of swine waste is gravity-fed through the at least one funneling channel onto at least one perforated conveyor belt. Liquid waste is strained from the quantity of swine waste on at least one perforated conveyor belt into the fluid trough, retaining solid waste on the at least one perforated conveyor belt. The solid waste is then transported into a solid-waste storage vessel with the at least one perforated conveyor belt. Simultaneously, the liquid waste is gravity fed into a liquid-waste containment vessel from the at least one fluid trough. The solid waste and the liquid waste are stored to be processed later.
