HYDROCULTURE MEDIA AND METHOD OF USING SAME
20170049063 · 2017-02-23 ·

Hydroculture media can be a synthetic soil including a three dimensional solid made of a plurality of fibers. The three dimensional solids can be a variety of shapes, such as spheres, cylinders, cones, cubes, cuboids, parallelepipeds, polyhedrons (e.g., pyramid, tetrahedron, octahedron, dodecahedron, icosahedron), prisms, spheroids, ellipsoids, paraboloids, hyperboloids, rings, and combinations thereof. The solids can have a length/diameter ratio in the range of 0.1-5:1. Some or all of the fibers can include an antimicrobial substance and/or plant nutrients.

SUGARCANE PROCESS

The present disclosure provides a method for propagating a crop using meristem excision, micropropagation, plantlet formation, plantlet singulation, plantlet transfer to artificial seeds, and planting artificial seeds. Methods are provided for producing and handling the plantlets and materials used to form artificial seeds. The artificial seeds may be used to store plantlets or may be planted to form a crop.

INTEGRATED BAMBOO PLANTATIONS WITH NON-BAMBOO VEGETATION AND BAMBOO
20170042105 · 2017-02-16 ·

The invention is directed to a bamboo plantation where the bamboo is integrated with pre-existing non-bamboo vegetation. In some aspects, the invention relates to a high-yielding bamboo plantation. In some aspects, the invention relates to a bamboo plantation grown on degraded or marginal land. In some aspects, the invention relates to the conversion of degraded or marginal land to a high-yielding bamboo plantation.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR DETERMINING FERTILIZER/TREATMENT REQUIREMENTS AND/OR PREDICTING PLANT GROWTH RESPONSE

A soil testing method determines available nutrient levels and effective and economical fertilizer/treatment, based on what nutrients in the soil will actually reach the root of a growing plant. A soil is tested to give a base-line/reference moisture content, and also initial nutrient(s) available to a plant root (if it were growing in that soil when no nutrients have been added) are determined, followed by comparing/correlating said initial available nutrient to nutrient requirements for desired plant growth during one or more periods of time and/or to a yield outcome desired. Various doses of fertilizer(s) or other treatment composition(s) are then added to portions of the soil, and those dosed portions are then tested for available nutrient levels, to determine the effect of said fertilizer(s)/treatment composition(s) on the nutrients that would be available in that particular soil to a plant root if that soil were fertilized with the various doses.

Tree or plant protection mat

One embodiment provides a modular green roof tray, house plant growth media and horticulture growth media, and a tree protection mat for weed and moisture control made from recycled disposable diapers. The growth medium and tree protection mat contain superabsorbent materials from diaper that can absorb waters and greatly reduce irrigation so to provide a drought resistant feature. One embodiment also provides a manufacturing process to perform 100% recycling of disposed diapers.

Enhancing secondary phytochemical and nutrients in plants and plant parts

According to the invention, the object is achieved by providing all necessary conditions at optimum level to produce plant and plant parts having higher nutrients and secondary metabolites, when compared to normal plants or grown in tap water. Formulated solution containing balanced nutrients, higher levels of targeted nutrient, required pH, single or multiple eliciting factors, required concentrations of natural preservatives and maintained at required temperature and light facilitated to achieve the above object.
