A hex lobular headed bit and socket for efficient torque force application having a hex lobular shaped head and multiple engagement fins each with contoured fastener engagement surface channels defining pairs of omni-directional alternating first and second fastener engagement resistant points. The contoured first fastener engagement channels on the apex of the fins engages the fasteners displacing material imparting enhanced grip while the second engagement channel defines additional surface contact point to prevent slippage therebetween.

Multiple holding units are connected to the disk and moved to one of the feeding area, the put-in area, the pressing area and the ready area when the disk rotates. A feeding arm is located beside the pick-up area and the feeding area to move the sockets from the pick-up area to the holding units. A pressing unit located above the pressing area to press a screwdriver to a socket. A pick-up arm picks up the sockets from the holding units. A control unit electrically controls the rotary unit, the feeding arm, the pressing unit and the pick-up arm.

A machine for making screwdriver bit sockets includes a feeing unit and a rotary unit located beside the feeding unit. The rotary unit includes a feeding area, a put-in area, a pressing area and a ready area. The rotary unit includes a disk rotatably connected to a base. A feeding arm is located beside the pick-up area and the feeding area to move the sockets from the pick-up area to the holding units. A set tool may comprise a handle member and a fastener retention member modularly coupled with the handle member. A permanent magnet may be positioned within a portion of the handle member and may be used to secure a ferromagnetic fastener within a fastener retention recess formed within the fastener retention member, when the fastener retention member is engaged with the handle member.

A screw bit body allowing for torque force application onto a socket fastener. The screw bit body includes a plurality of laterally-bracing sidewalls, a plurality of intermittent sidewalls, a first base, and a second base. The laterally-bracing sidewalls and plurality of intermittent sidewalls are radially distributed about a rotation axis of the screw bit body with each further including a first lateral edge, a second lateral edge, a bracing surface, and an engagement cavity. The engagement cavity creates a gripping point to prevent slippage in between the screw bit body and the socket fastener. The engagement cavity traverses normal and into the concave surface and the convex surface. The engagement cavity includes an angled driving portion and a concave portion. The angled driving portion is positioned adjacent to the first lateral edge with the concave portion being positioned opposite to the first lateral edge, across the angled driving portion.

A driver for threaded fasteners has helical blades with engagement surfaces on one side and teeth on an opposite side. The engagement surfaces engage surfaces within the recesses in the fastener head to drive the fastener when the driver is rotated in a first direction. The teeth engage the fastener head when the driver is rotated in an opposite direction to remove the fastener.
