A foldable handheld net having a handle portion defining a first end of the lobster net, a net frame assembly with a first and second frame members forming at least a portion of the handle portion and each having magnets or another fastener disposed thereon, wherein the first and second frame members have a meshed net attached thereto and are operably configured to selectively rotate and selective couple with respect to one another and be retained in a folded position along a frame translation path with the magnets or fasteners. Additionally, the handle portion may have tickling stick selectively removably coupled thereto for detachment and use by the user.

OYSTER AQUACULTURE METHOD AND APPARATUS
20200396968 · 2020-12-24 ·

For oyster aquaculture, oysters are housed in cylindrical containers. The containers have open (e.g. mesh) sides allowing water and nutrient flow. Containers are attached at each end to a horizontal anchoring system, such as a pair of lines running near the water surface. The attachment involves rotatable connection, allowing the containers to roll. The containers include a traction surface, such as a ridged or toothed surface for traction, or another roughened or corrugated surface. This allows the containers to be rolled without disconnection from the anchoring system, for tumbling and transport. A container handling device mounted on a boat includes a ramp descending into the water and an operating area. The operating area includes a de-fouling bath and a surface on which the containers roll, facilitating tumbling. The container handling device travels along a line of containers with the anchor lines running overtop, lifting each container up and through the operating area in turn.

FISHING TOOL FOR BOTTOM-DWELLING MARINE ORGANISMS, FOR FISHING ICELAND SCALLOPS, OTHER SCALLOPS AND POTENTIALLY OTHER BOTTOM SPECIES SUCH AS SEA CUCUMBERS, SEA URCHINS, OTHER TYPES OF SHELLFISH AND SPECIES OF CRAB

A harvesting unit with one or more pumps including one or more suction nozzles directed towards the seabed, one or more inlets that lead from the suction nozzle to the pump, an outlet to a sorting device, one or more motors for driving the one or more pumps, where the sorting device, which at least separates shellfish from bycatch and foreign bodies, has an outlet for shellfish leading to a collecting unit, a structural main frame that carries at least the harvesting unit, and a towing and launching system for deployment and propulsion of the harvesting unit.

DEVICES TO ASSIST ECOSYSTEM DEVELOPMENT AND PRESERVATION

A system for preserving or establishing an ecosystem comprises an assembly coupled to a guidance component. An assembly comprises an enclosure and a substrate, and is configured to contain one or more organisms within the enclosure. The guidance component causes the assembly to be transported to a destination environment. The assembly is decoupled from the guidance component. The assembly detaches from the substrate, to integrate the one or more organisms into an ecosystem of the destination environment.

Method, system, and harvesting apparatus for aquaculture trench maintenance and harvesting
10701909 · 2020-07-07 ·

A system of harvesting sea creatures from a trench holding the sea creatures in seawater, including a trench, an injection well, and a harvesting apparatus that extracts the sea creatures from the trench. The trench includes a gate at one end of the trench. The gate insertable into an opening at the end of the trench to prevent seawater from entering or exiting the trench and removable from the opening to allow the seawater to enter or exit the trench. The injection well is positioned external to the trench and can receive the seawater discharged from the trench. The harvesting apparatus includes a conveyor that inclines. The conveyor includes a conveyor belt and a wedge at one end of the conveyor that contacts the bottom floor of the trench when the conveyor is inclined.
