The invention relates to a method for operating a drywall screwdriver (1), an electric motor (3) of the drywall screwdriver (1) being driven by means of a plurality of temporally spaced individual pulses (11) in order to allow a user to influence the countersinking of a screw (7) in a workpiece (10) in pulses. According to the invention, a screwing tool (8) that is mechanically coupled to the electric motor (3) and can be brought into engagement with the screw (7) is moved further by a predetermined angle of rotation (a) with each of the individual pulses (11).

A screwdriver includes a first section, a second section where a positioning groove is annularly formed, a sleeve member detachably disposed on the second section, and an engagement member disposed in the sleeve member. The sleeve member has a body with a through hole, a magnetic unit disposed in the through hole, and an accommodation groove adapted to accommodate the engagement member. When the second section and the sleeve member engage in position, the accommodation groove and the positioning groove meet to engage the engagement member with the positioning groove. The engagement between the second section and the sleeve member allows a gap to be formed between a screw head and the sleeve member while inserting the second section into a socket of the screw head, so the magnetic attraction exists without the contact between the sleeve member and the screw head for a firm engagement therebetween.

Work device

In the work device that has a self-holding circuit (61) maintaining power supply from a power supply circuit (12) by output from a microcomputer (40) and has a structure in which stopping output to the self-holding circuit (61) causes interruption of power supply from the power supply circuit (12) to the microcomputer (40), the firmware of the microcomputer (40) is made to be rewritable and a power holding unit (condenser C1) for temporarily continuing power supply to the microcomputer (40) is provided, thereby realizing a so-called “off-delay timer function” for restarting the microcomputer (40). This configuration enables maintenance of power to the microcomputer (40) after update of the firmware even in a work device that cannot be restarted once power has been turned off unless trigger operation is performed, thereby enabling automatic restart of the microcomputer 40 after resetting is enabled.

Power tool component position sensing

Position sensing related to a component within a power tool. The component within the power tool is, for example, a hammer of an impact mechanism and can include one or more sensible features that allow a controller of the power tool to precisely determine the position, speed, and acceleration of the component. One or more sensors can be used to determine the rotational position of the hammer and the axial position of the hammer. The rotational position of the hammer can then be used to calculate, for example, rotational speed and acceleration of the hammer. With precise determinations of the rotational and axial position of the hammer, the controller of the power tool is able to precisely time the impact between the hammer and the anvil to optimize the impact between the hammer and the anvil (e.g., to maximize energy transfer between the hammer and the anvil).

Multi-grip screw apparatus

A screw bit body allows for efficient torque force application onto a socket fastener. The screw bit body includes a plurality of laterally-bracing sidewalls, a first base, and a second base. The laterally-bracing sidewalls are radially distributed about a rotation axis of the screw bit body with each further including a first lateral edge, a second lateral edge, a bracing surface, and an engagement cavity. The engagement cavity creates an additional gripping point to prevent slippage in between the screw bit body and the socket fastener. The engagement cavity traverses normal and into the bracing surface. Additionally, the engagement cavity traverses into the screw bit body from the first base to the second base. The engagement cavity is specifically positioned offset from the first lateral edge by a first distance.

The electric screwdriver apparatus control method is executed by an electric screwdriver apparatus. A processing module of the electric screwdriver apparatus loads a configuration data, and the processing module controls a motor module to accelerate a rotational speed to a target rotational speed. When a revolution number exceeds a first revolution number, the processing module controls the motor module to decelerate to a first rotational speed. When a torque value exceeds a first torque value, the processing module determines whether a fastening process of a screw ends with a hard stop or a soft stop according to the configuration data. If the fastening process ends with the hard stop, then the screw is additionally tightened for a hard stop angle, vice versa. The processing module tightens the screw according to the configuration data, the torque value and a rotational speed value, improving the process of fastening the screw.
