An example system includes: an apparatus comprising: a temporary fastener having a stem configured to be inserted through as assembly and be retained to the assembly, and a spring mounted about the stem. The system also includes a linear actuator configured to apply a force on the spring, thereby causing the spring to be compressed against the assembly and apply a predetermined clamping force to the assembly.

METHOD FOR INSTALLING A FASTENER IN A THROUGH-ORIFICE OF A BOX-TYPE STRUCTURE OPEN AT AT LEAST ONE END, AND TOOLING FOR CARRYING OUT THE METHOD

A method for installing a screw in at least one through-orifice of a box-type structure, including inserting a body of a first tool into the through-orifice from an external region of the box-type structure, moving the body in an internal region of the box-type structure, towards an end of the box-type structure, securing the screw to the body, the first tool comprising a link connected to the body which remains accessible from the external region during the inserting, moving and securing steps, pulling on the link from the external region until the shank of the screw is positioned in the through-orifice, and separating the body from the screw.

Setting method for setting expansion anchors by means of an impact wrench
11413732 · 2022-08-16 · ·

A control method of an impact wrench for setting an expansion anchor carries out a first sequence in response to a button being pressed. In a first phase, a rotary impact is repeatedly exerted on a screw element of the expansion anchor and a torque transmitted from the rotary impact to the screw head is estimated. The first phase S1 is continued until the estimated transmitted torque exceeds a threshold value specified for the expansion anchor. In a second phase, a number of rotary impacts specified for the expansion anchor are exerted on the screw head. If the button is released before the end of the first sequence, a premature release of the button and the phase in which the button was released is stored in a memory. In response to the button being pressed when a premature release is stored in the memory, a second sequence is carried which depends on the phase in which the button was previously released.

Hammer Drill Driving Bit Device
20220212327 · 2022-07-07 ·

A hammer drill driving bit device for installing an anchor fastener includes a shaft. A first end of the shaft has a first recess extending axially thereinto. The first recess is arcuate and thus is complementary to a head of an anchor fastener, which can be inserted into the first recess. A second end of the shaft is engageable a chuck of a hammer drill so that the shaft is operationally engaged to the hammer drill. The shaft can engage the head of the anchor fastener, such that, with the anchor fastener positioned through a first hole in a first substrate, the hammer drill is positioned to drive the anchor fastener into a second hole in a second substrate. The anchor fastener expands to engage a wall of the second hole to couple the first substrate to the second substrate.

Setting method for expansion anchors by means of an impact wrench

A setting method for expansion anchors via an impact wrench has a first phase S1 and a second phase S2. In the first phase, a rotary impact is repeatedly exerted on a screw element of the expansion anchor and a torque transmitted from the rotary impact to the screw head is estimated. The first phase S1 is ended when the estimated transmitted torque exceeds a threshold value specified for the expansion anchor. During the second phase, a first number of rotary impacts specified for the expansion anchor are exerted on the screw head. A current rate of change of the estimated torque is monitored at least during the first phase. In response to the current rate of change exceeding a limit value for the rate of change specified for the expansion anchor, a modified second phase is started, in which a second number of rotary impacts specified for the expansion anchor are exerted on the screw head, the second number being less than the first number.

Retainer insertion and extraction tool
11279012 · 2022-03-22 · ·

A retainer insertion and extraction tool that includes a shaft or handle, a retainer extraction pin at a distal end of the shaft, and a retainer receiving component at a forward end of the shaft. The retainer receiving component includes an annular, generally cylindrical, or cylindrical hammer face mounting, a hammer face, and a retainer capture base that includes a notch configured to receive a magnet and an extending leading edge that, in combination with the notch and magnet, is configured to receive and retain a retainer. The retainer receiving component is configured to insert the retainer into a groove of a bit by applying manual force to hammer face of the hammer face mounting. The retainer extraction pin is configured to remove the retainer from the groove of the bit by applying manual force to the forward end of the shaft, allowing the shaft to pivot against a fulcrum of a base block.

A setting tool system includes a housing. The housing includes a first conduit that receives one or more anchoring systems at a first end, and a second conduit at least partially separated from the first conduit with an interior wall. The second conduit includes a weighted shaft that moves freely within the length of the second conduit. The first and second conduits merge at a second end opposite the first end. The housing also includes a head having an opening at the second end. Each of the one or more anchoring systems inserted at the first end are individually received at the opening at the second end. Each anchoring system contacts the weighted shaft at a top surface, and contacts an external surface at a bottom surface. Each of the one or more anchoring systems are individually fastened via the weighted shaft to the external surface.
