The present invention relates to a thermoplastic polyurethane obtainable or obtained by the conversion of at least a polyisocyanate composition, propane-1,3-diol as chain extender and a polyol composition, wherein no further chain extender is used aside from propane-1,3-diol, to a process for preparing such a thermoplastic polyurethane, and to the use of such a polyurethane for production of injection molded products, extrusion products, films and shaped bodies.
UV AND HIGH ENERGY VISIBLE ABSORBING OPHTHALMIC LENSES
An ophthalmic lens operable to protect the eye from harmful ultraviolet and high energy visible wavelengths of light and methods for producing the same.
Sprayed multilayer polyurea and polyurethane composites
Polyurea/polyurethane composites and methods for making the same are disclosed. Four primary layers, an aliphatic polyurea layer, a first elastomeric layer, a structural foam layer, and second elastomeric layer, can be applied to a mold sequentially. By using plural component spray systems to spray isocyanate components and resin components corresponding to each layer at specifications, such as the temperatures and pressures of the material components, structurally sound molded composites can be formed. The spray system for the aliphatic polyurea layer can use a liquid or mechanical purge type spray gun, while the spray systems for the first elastomeric layer, the structural layer, and a second elastomeric layer can use air, mechanical or solvent purge type spray guns. Optional layers may be applied in between the primary layers, such as polyurea/polyurethane layers after the aliphatic polyurea layer or one or more additional structural foam layers after the primary structural foam layer.
Producing method of foam sheet for shoe with recycled PU scrap powder
The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a foam sheet for shoes containing recycled PU scrap powder, the method of manufacturing the foam sheet, including eco-friend Polyurethane (PU) foam composition prepared by water foam, is provided by first mixing recycled PU scrap powder with polyol and then reacting with the secondary addition of recycled PU scrap powder by controlling the process conditions and processing speed through a side-feeder, it is possible to prevent the viscosity of the raw material from rising, so that even if a larger amount (less than 60 wt %) of recycled material is used than before, the quality of the product is equivalent to that of conventional shoe insoles or shoe uppers.
Late-stage catalysis of fast room-temperature polymerizations
The present application relates to a method of fast curing transparent casted substrate, usable for making optical articles such as ophthalmic lenses, which comprises the steps of:providing a fast room-temperature polymerizable composition:providing a catalyst composition;providing a casting mold assembly containing two unsealed molds each having an inside surface and an outside surface; and optionally providing a light filtering element placed or configured to be placed between the two moldsdepositing the catalyst composition:on the inside surfaces of at least one of the molds; and/oron at least one of the surfaces of the light filtering element which is thereafter positioned in the mold assembly;closing the casting mold assembly so that the inside surfaces of the molds form together the molding cavity:filling the fast room-temperature polymerizable composition in the molding cavity of the casting mold assembly already containing the catalyst composition deposited on the inside surface of at least one of the molds:curing the filled mold assembly to obtain a transparent solid substrate, said curing step comprising: a) a first step for polymerizing said composition at room temperature to obtain a gel; and b) a second step of post-curing the gel to obtain the transparent solid substrate; andrecovering the transparent solid substrate from the casting mold assembly.
Neurostimulation leads with reduced current leakage
Embodiments include implantable neurostimulation leads configured to reduce current leakage following implantation in a patient's body, and methods of manufacturing such leads. A lead includes a lead body with proximal apertures and distal apertures; a lumen extending through the lead body; electrodes at a distal portion of the lead body and connector interfaces at a proximal portion of the lead body; conductors extending through the lead body, with their proximal ends exiting via respective proximal apertures to couple with a respective connector interfaces, and their distal ends exiting the interior of the lead body via respective distal apertures to couple with a respective electrodes; and an electrically nonconductive filler element for occupying gaps in the interior of the lead body resulting from the exit of conductors from the lead body.
Foaming mixture dispensing apparatus and method
An adjustable distributor apparatus (10) for dispensing a foam forming mixture comprising a main body (20) and adjustment plate, the main body featuring at least one inlet, one channel, and one outlet, the inlet, channel and outlet in fluid connection such that a fluid may pass through the inlet into the channel and exit from the channel through the outlet, and the outlet being coupled with at least one adjustment plate (40), the adjustment plate featuring at least a first face, a second face opposing the first face, and an outlet hole, enabling a seal between either the outlet of the main body or the second face of a second adjustment plate, and the outlet hole extending from the first face to the second face by way of a fluid connection through the adjustment plate.
Potting apparatus for a gas exchanger
The present disclosure relates to a casting device for producing a potting for a gas exchanger and a method for producing such a potting. Accordingly, a casting device is proposed for producing a potting for a gas exchanger under the influence of a centrifugal force, comprising a distributor comprising an opening and at least one continuous channel and adapted to receive a fluid potting material via the opening and to guide it via the at least one channel. The casting device further comprises a cassette defining an inner cavity for receiving gas exchanger elements and which is fluidly connected to the at least one channel. The distributor comprises at least two distributor components which, in the assembled state of the distributor, define the opening, are connected to one another in a leak-proof manner, and form the at least one channel between adjacent regions.
