Fishing Line Monitoring System
A fishing system that includes a sensing unit mountable about a fishing rod for detecting fish activity about a fishing line, the sensing unit includes a rotatable portion that allows the sensing unit, when mounted between two fishing pole eyelets, to provide sensory information to a transceiver unit when a portion of a wheel passes about the sensing unit, for alerting of the loss of fishing line from the fishing pole.

Fishing rod
To provide a fishing rod having a tip whose bending strength is improved and breakage is prevented with unexposed end surfaces of reinforced fibers of the tip on a tapered surface thereof. A fishing rod according to the disclosure includes a solid tip made of a fiber-reinforced resin material in which reinforced fibers are continuously disposed along an axial direction, the tip is tapered toward a distal end. A covering layer made of a fiber-reinforced resin in which short fibers are dispersed in a matrix resin material is formed on the surface of the tip.

Advanced fishing rod assembly
This invention relates to a hollow fishing rod assembly with an inventive mounting block that spaces a hollow rod apart from a fishing reel seat such that when the fishing reel is mounted to the seat the fishing line orifice of the reel is axially aligned with the core of the hollow fishing rod. The mounting bracket may be hinged so that the line opening of the fishing rod is moved above the fishing reel for easy access and threading of new or replacement fishing line through the rod.
Combination paddle shaft and fishing rod
A combination paddle and fishing rod device is disclosed. The device may incorporate a single ended paddle or double ended paddle. In any embodiment, the device allows a fishing reel to be mounted to the shaft of the paddle. The shaft forms a portion of the fishing rod supporting one or more eyelets for guiding fishing line from a fishing reel mounted to the shaft. In one embodiment, the eyelets are connected to the shaft and or an oar blade. In another embodiment, a short fishing rod section having one or more eyelets is connected to the shaft. The device is configured to permit fishing while a user propels a watercraft.
Fishing related event detection
Described is an apparatus and system for detecting fishing related events and providing notifications to a fisher regarding those events. When a fishing related event, such as a fish on line event occurs, it results in a fishing rod flexing or moving in particular directions. The described implementations include sensors located on or in the fishing rod that provide position data that is utilized to monitor a movement of the fishing rod and determine a type of fishing related event that has occurred.
