ANGLING EVENT DETECTING AND REPORTING APPARATUS

Provided herein is an angling event detecting and reporting apparatus to identify and report angling events, the apparatus comprising an angling event sensor adapted to be located in the reel of a fishing rod and generating data indicative of a parameter of the rod or reel when the rod or reel is in use. Additionally, there may be at least one processor in communication with the angling event sensor programmed to identify an angling event based on the data indicative of a parameter of the rod or reel.

AQUATIC DEVICE WITH HANDHELD PIECE AND DRONE
20180279594 · 2018-10-04 ·

The present invention describes a drone that is launched from a handheld piece and may be navigated by controls that are positioned on the handheld piece in any direction at varying speeds. After the drone is launched the operator of the handheld piece deploys a hook stowed in the drone that descends into the water. Although the present invention is most suitable for fishing it will be readily apparent that there are several other important fields of use where this invention may be beneficial by substituting the hook with other components.

A tip rod made of a fiber reinforced resin has a solid structure at least at its distal end portion. The tip rod is formed by dispersing reinforcement fibers in a matrix resin, molding the matrix resin that contains the reinforcement fibers into a prescribed shape, and heating the molded matrix resin that contains the reinforcement fibers to be cured. An average diameter of the reinforcement fibers is 3 to 15 m, an average length of the reinforcement fibers is 0.5 to 10 mm, a content of the fibers dispersed in the matrix resin is 3 to 50 wt %. The solid structure of the tip rod includes an outer layer, an intermediate layer, and an inner layer in which the reinforcement fibers are directed in a different direction for each layer. Alternatively the structure may include the outer layer and the inner layer.

A combination paddle and fishing rod device is disclosed. The device may incorporate a single ended paddle or double ended paddle. In any embodiment, the device allows a fishing reel to be mounted to the shaft of the paddle. The shaft forms a portion of the fishing rod supporting one or more eyelets for guiding fishing line from a fishing reel mounted to the shaft. In one embodiment, the eyelets are connected to the shaft and or an oar blade. In another embodiment, a short fishing rod section having one or more eyelets is connected to the shaft. The device is configured to permit fishing while a user propels a watercraft.

FISHING ASSEMBLY INCLUDING A NET HOUSING

A fishing assembly includes a fishing pole and a housing coupled to the fishing pole. The housing defines a cavity sized to receive a collapsible net assembly therein. The fishing assembly further includes a net release mechanism for releasing the net assembly from the cavity. The net release mechanism is configured to engage the housing and is selectively releasable to disengage with the housing to allow the net assembly to be removed from the housing.

Fishing rod with graphene and method of manufacturing

A fishing rod comprises a hollow tubular rod blank having a plurality of prepreg layers, where each prepreg layer includes a graphene-resin mixture comprising a resin and a graphene preparation evenly disposed throughout the resin. The rod blank further includes a fiber cloth impregnated with the graphene-resin mixture. The plurality of prepreg layers are applied and pressed together in alternate layers of graphene-resin mixture and fiber cloth to form the rod blank.

Described is an apparatus and system for detecting fishing related events and providing notifications to a fisher regarding those events. When a fishing related event, such as a fish on line event occurs, it results in a fishing rod flexing or moving in particular directions. The described implementations include sensors located on or in the fishing rod that provide position data that is utilized to monitor a movement of the fishing rod and determine a type of fishing related event that has occurred.
