System, method and article for siding corner
A method of injection molding a building product includes providing an injection mold with a plurality of gates located adjacent a perimeter of the injection mold. The method further includes commingling a first material and a second material into a flow, the second material comprising a color that contrasts with a color of the first material and injecting the commingled flow into the plurality of gates to form a building product. Thereafter, the method includes removing the building product from the injection mold. The second material extends through an interior of the building product and appears as contrasting streaks on an exterior of the building product to form a variegated grain appearance. The method also includes notching a portion of the building product, such that the building product has a substantially linear grain in an exposed portion thereof.
System and method for continuously manufacturing cured membranes
A method of continuously manufacturing a cured membrane includes continuously compounding and mixing a vulcanizable rubber composition in a mixing extruder while continuously removing gasses from the vulcanizable rubber composition during mixing with a vacuum. The vulcanizable rubber composition may be continuously extruded to form an extrudate, which may be continuously calendered to form a green membrane. The green membrane may be continuously cured, such as by a hot air conveyor curing system, to form a cured membrane.
Extruded polyurethane surface films
Various embodiments disclosed relate to a surfacing film. The surfacing film includes a base layer. The base layer includes a thermoplastic polyurethane film comprising a reaction product of a reaction mixture of a diisocyanate, a polyester polyol having a melting temperature of at least about 30 C.; and a diol chain extender. There are many reasons to use the surfacing film including easier and more cost effective manufacturing of the surfacing film by directly extruding the base layer by mixing the reaction mixture in an extruder. Another reason to use the surfacing film is that the film has improved resistance to discoloration. Another reason to use the film is that the film shows good toughness.
Master mold for pattern transfer
In various embodiments, the present invention provides a method comprising: disposing upon a first substrate, a first coating; texturing the first coating with a stamp; treating the textured first coating to form a master mold; where the master mold contains a mirror image of the texture contained in the first coating; and transferring the texture from the master mold to a second substrate.
Curable reactive silicone composition, cured product thereof and uses of composition and cured product
Provided is: a curing reactive silicone composition having sufficient toughness and pressure sensitive adhesive strength to temporarily secure various substrate even in an uncured state, having heat meltability and excellent moldability of a sheet or the like, and that can be quickly cured by high energy irradiation to achieve high adhesive strength; a method of manufacturing a sheet thereof a cured product thereof that can achieve high adhesive strength by crimping; and applications thereof. The curing reactive silicone composition comprises: (A) an MQ resin; (B) a chain organopolysiloxane having at least two groups containing an aliphatic unsaturated carbon-carbon bond, and a degree of siloxane polymerization within a range of 80 to 3000; (C) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane; and (D) a hydrosilylation reaction catalyst activated by a high energy beam. The amount of component (A) is more than 55 mass % and less than 90 mass % of the sum of components (A) to (C).
Nucleating agent for polyolefin resin, nucleating agent composition for polyolefin resin containing same, master batch for polyolefin resin, polyolefin resin composition, molded article thereof, film thereof, method for producing porous film, and package
Provided are: a nucleating agent for a polyolefin resin having an excellent crystal-forming effect; a nucleating agent composition for a polyolefin resin containing the nucleating agent; a polyolefin resin masterbatch; a polyolefin resin composition; a molded article of the composition; a film of the composition; a method of producing a porous film; and a package. The nucleating agent contains a compound represented by Formula (1) below wherein M represents a monovalent to trivalent metal atom having a specific gravity of 4.0 or less, or the like; a represents 1 or 2; b represents 1 or 3; x represents an integer of 1 to 3; ax=2b is satisfied; and Z represents a group represented by Formula (2) or (3) below wherein * represents a position at which each group is linked with Z of Formula (1); Y represents a direct bond or an alkylene group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; and R.sub.1 to R.sub.10 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a hydroxy group, a halogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms, or the like. ##STR00001##
Systems and methods for securing a panel insert to a panel
A system and a method for securing a panel insert to a panel include a main housing, a heater within the main housing, a coupling rod extending from the main housing, and a clamp assembly coupled to the coupling rod. The clamp assembly is configured to clamp the panel insert to the panel. The heater is configured to cure an adhesive applied to the panel insert to bond the panel insert to the panel.
Sloped edge on decorative articles with a rigid base and a decor that is digitally printed thereon
A decorative article comprising a base and a top layer disposed thereon. The base may comprise a first surface, a second surface opposite the first, a side surface disposed between the first and second surfaces, and angled surfaces along at least two of the edges of the first surface. The angled surfaces extend from the first surface and towards the second surface. Each angled surface may comprise at least one of a curved portion and a linear portion extending from the curved portion. The base can include a male connector portion extending from one side surface and a female connector portion formed in the opposing side surface, wherein the male and female connector portions are configured to interconnect. The top layer may comprise a decor layer that further comprises a sub layer, an ink layer, and a wear layer disposed above the ink layer.
Architectural resin panel with incorporated scrap materials
An architectural resin panel that incorporates plastic granules fused together to form a panel core. A portion of the plastic granules are contaminant granules that at least partially include a contaminant material, such as a piece of fabric, plastic film, or plant material. The granules used to form the panel core may be sourced from waste plastic material that would otherwise be required to undergo waste processing.
Polyester film for coating iron and film-coated metal plate
Disclosed is a blended polyester thin film, comprising a copolyester and a homopolyester. The thin film is composed of upper, middle, and lower layers. Each of the three layers is a homogeneous mixture of the copolyester and the homopolyester. The copolyester comprises 800-2000 ppm by mass of SiO.sub.2 added by means of in-situ polymerization. A dihydric alcohol component in the copolyester comprises ethylene glycol, 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol, and 1,4-butanediol. The melting point of the copolyester is between 200-240 C. The blended polyester film of the present invention has excellent processability, excellent chemical resistance, such as acid and alkali resistance, and excellent uniformity. A film-coated metal plate prepared from the blended polyester thin film can meet performance requirements of metal containers for food and beverage packaging with complex molding processing and high corrosion resistance.
