Modular telecommunications plug and method
A modular plug is disclosed as having a housing, a wire manager, an anti-snag protector, and a load bar each configured to snap-fit together to assemble the modular plug. The wire manager includes a front portion fitted within an internal cavity of the housing and a rear portion having an aperture configured to receive a terminal end of a telecommunications cable. The wire manager includes a plurality of channels, each channel having a gate configured to position a twisted pair of wires from the telecommunications cable in a stacked vertical arrangement.
Communication system having connector assembly
A connector assembly includes a connector module having a connector body with side edges and end edges. The connector body has contact channels holding contacts. The connector assembly includes a mounting frame having side walls and an end wall opposite a window between the side walls. The window is open to and provides access to a passage that receives the connector module. The mounting frame includes a connector module support structure for supporting the connector module in the passage that defines a confined space oversized relative to the connector body of the connector module to allow a limited amount of floating movement in the confined space in a lateral direction that is perpendicular to the mating direction.
Plug-in connector with authentication feature
The disclosure relates to a plug-in connector including a housing having at least two contact terminals received in adjacent terminal receiving cavities. An electric identification device is arranged in the housing and adapted to simultaneously contact the at least two terminals. The electric identification device including a unique identifier, wherein one of the at least two terminals is an output terminal of the identification device, and wherein the unique identifier of the electric identification device is adapted to be read out via the output terminal for authenticating an original equipment manufacturer's parts, such as a plug-in authenticator.
Electrical connector with removable load bar
A modular plug system including a plug housing including a top surface, bottom surface and two opposing side surfaces, a front end and an opening opposite the front end, and a cavity extending from the front end to the opening in the back end, a load bar sized to engage the cavity in the modular plug, the load bar including two extensions on an upper surface of the load bar, the extensions sized to engage two openings in the top surface of the plug housing when the load bar is inserted into the cavity.
Quick connecting outlet cover and associated components
An electrical receptacle is provided having electrical connection screws with a shaft, a drive head and an intermediate head. The shaft has a threaded end that is suitable to be selectably turned into the receptacle until electrical wires are pressed between the receptacle and the intermediate head. The drive head is opposite the threaded end of the shaft. A seat is provided between the drive head and intermediate head. A cover is provided having prongs that engage the screws in the seats. The width of the seats provides a lateral tolerance to engagement of the prong and screw. The prongs can be flared at their ends to engage the seat and the prong bodies are held in contact against the seat to provide a secure electrical connection. Electronics can be embedded within the cover so that it glows or shines.
Direct plug hermaphroditic electrical connector assemblies
An electrical connector assembly includes a housing having a mating interface configured to be mated with a hermaphroditic mating electrical connector assembly. The housing includes an electrically conductive commoning member having contact openings. Wafer assemblies are coupled to the housing each having a leadframe, a wafer body holding the leadframe, and a ground frame providing electrical shielding for the leadframe. The signal contacts are terminated to cables. The ground shields are electrically connected to the commoning member. The mating ends of the signal contacts and the ground shields form a hermaphroditic mating interface for mating with the hermaphroditic mating electrical connector assembly.
Modular telecommunications plug and method
A modular plug for terminating a telecommunications cable includes a housing, a plurality of wire contacts, and a wire manager fitted in an internal cavity of the housing. The wire manager includes internal walls shaping a central channel, opposing edges on the internal walls defining a gate in the central channel, and tabs projecting from the gate in the central channel. The tabs define an upper portion and a lower portion in the gate. A strain relief member attaches to the wire manager in an intermediate position to partially restrain the telecommunications cable relative to the wire manager, and is restrained by the housing in a final position to completely restrain the telecommunications cable relative to the wire manager.
Portable power case with heat-resistant material
Systems, methods, and articles for a portable power case are disclosed. The portable power case is comprised of at least one battery and at least one PCB. The portable power case has at least two access ports, at least two leads, or at least one access port and at least one lead and at least one USB port. The portable power case is operable to supply power to an amplifier, a radio, a wearable battery, a mobile phone, and a tablet. The portable power case is operable to be charged using solar panels, vehicle batteries, AC adapters, non-rechargeable batteries, and generators. The portable power case provides for modularity that allows the user to disassemble and selectively remove the batteries installed within the portable power case housing.
Electrical connector assembly having improved locking elements
A board connector includes a first housing including a base and two sidewalls and defining a receiving space, a plurality of first terminals and a first metallic shell including a first main portion and two extending portions extending from the first main portion and fitting covering outsides of the sidewalls. Each extending portion defines a locking hole. A cable connector includes a second housing, a plurality of second terminals and a second metallic shell comprising a second main portion covering a top of the second insulating housing and a pair of locking arms extending from the second main portion in the lateral direction. Each sidewall is sandwiched between the locking arm and an outside of the second housing and each locking arm is retained in the locking hole during the cable connector is engaged with the board connector.
