Manufacturing a fluid permeable heater assembly with cap
A method for manufacturing a fluid permeable heater assembly includes providing a heating element, and over-molding a cap on edge areas of one side of the heating element. The cap includes a hollow body having a first cap opening and a second cap opening. The first cap opening is opposite to the second cap opening, and the heating element is mounted on the cap such that the heating element extends across the first cap opening.
Adaptive closed-loop control of additive manufacturing for producing a workpiece
A method and an arrangement for producing a workpiece using additive manufacturing techniques involve pre-process, in-process and post-process measurement in order to determine individual characteristics of one or more workpiece layers. In particular, dimensional and/or geometrical characteristics of a workpiece layer are measured before the next workpiece layer is produced. Advantageously, production parameters are controlled in response to individual material characteristics determined prior to the production process. Also advantageously, measurement results are fed back into a production process in order to increase accuracy, reliability, repeatability and precision of the production process.
PEEK-PEoEK copolymer powder and method of preparing the powder
The present invention generally relates to a powder comprising a PEEK-PEoEK copolymer, wherein the PEEK-PEoEK copolymer having R.sub.PEEK and R.sub.PEoEK repeat units in a molar ratio R.sub.PEEK/R.sub.PEoEK ranging from 95/5 to 5/95. The present invention also relates to a method of preparing the powder, as well as to the uses of the powder for coating, compression molding and to prepare a three-dimensional (3D) object.
Elastomeric additive manufacturing composition
A composition useful for additive manufacturing is comprised of a thermoplastic elastomer blended with an aliphatic polyketone, wherein the thermoplastic elastomer is a continuous phase having dispersed therein separated domains of polyketone. The composition is useful for additive printing methods employing heating and extrusion of the composition to form extrudates that are printed an article comprised of fused layers of the composition. The composition facilitates the formation of extrusion based elastomeric additive manufactured articles.
Feed material for three-dimensional printing containing a polyoxymethylene polymer
A polymer composition containing a polyoxymethylene polymer having low shrinkage characteristics and/or an expanded processing window is disclosed. The polymer composition is particularly well suited for use in three-dimensional printing systems, such as printers that use filament fusion technology. The polymer composition, for instance, can be a feed material in the form of a filament or polymeric pellets. The feed material can be placed in a printer cartridge for insertion into a three-dimensional printing system. In accordance with the present disclosure, a polyoxymethylene polymer is combined with one or more dimensional stabilizing agents for dramatically improving the processing characteristics of the polymer.
Additive manufacturing method for making a three-dimensional object using selective laser sintering
The present disclosure relates to an additive manufacturing (AM) method for making a three-dimensional (3D) object, comprising a) depositing successive layers of a powdered material (M), at least partially recycled, comprising at least one poly(ether ketone ketone) (PEKK), having a phosphorus content of more than 30 ppm, as measured by Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES), and b) selectively sintering each layer prior to deposition of the subsequent layer.
Composite components with impact detection
A fiber-reinforced polymer composite component formed from a polymer matrix material containing fiber reinforcement. The component comprises a main portion and at least one raised feature extending from a surface plane s of said main portion. The at least one raised feature is arranged to incur visually perceptible damage when the component is subject to an impact with an energy above a predetermined impact energy threshold and to resist an impact with an energy below the predetermined impact energy threshold.
Processes for producing a shaped body using polyamide blends containing a polyarylether
The present invention relates to a process for producing a shaped body by selective laser sintering of a sinter powder (SP). The sinter powder (SP) comprises at least one semicrystalline polyamide, at least one nylon-6I/6T and at least one polyaryl ether. The present invention further relates to a shaped body obtainable by the process of the invention and to the use of a polyaryl ether in a sinter powder (SP) for broadening the sintering window (W.sub.SP) of the sinter powder (SP).
Thermoplastic films and methods for coating thermoplastic substrates with thermoset materials
A thermoplastic composition includes a thermoplastic polymer and a polyaryletherketone polymer in admixture with the thermoplastic polymer.
Molding compound containing polyether block amide (PEBA)
A molding compound contains polyether block amide (PEBA) based on a subunit 1 made of at least one linear aliphatic diamine having 5 to 15 C atoms and at least one linear aliphatic or aromatic dicarboxylic acid having 6 to 16 C atoms. The PEBA also contains a subunit 2 made of at least one polyether diol having at least 3 C atoms per ether oxygen and primary OH groups at the chain ends. The sum of the C atoms of diamine and dicarboxylic acid is odd and is 19 or 21, and the number-average molar mass of the subunit 2 is 200 to 900 g/mol. A molded object can be created from the molding compound, which can be a molded part, a film, a bristle, a fiber, or a foam.
