Receiver apparatus and method for receiving a three-dimensional broadcast signal in a mobile environment
The invention relates to a method and apparatus for receiving a three-dimensional broadcast image in a mobile environment. The method for receiving a three-dimensional broadcast image according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises the following steps: receiving a broadcast signal including a left-view image and aright-view image for a three-dimensional broadcast image, and a service signaling channel for signaling the three-dimensional broadcast image; parsing a service map table (SMT) contained in the service signaling channel, parsing, from the parsed SMT, component-type information for indicating whether or not a three-dimensional video stream including the left-view image and the right-view image is contained in the broadcast signal, and parsing, from the SMT, left/right-view image information for indicating whether the left-view image or right-view image is transmitted through a specific region of a single video frame, if the component-type information indicates that the three-dimensional video stream containing the left-view image and the right-view image is contained in the broadcast signal; formatting the left-view image and the right-view image into a three-dimensional image on the basis of the parsed left/right-view image information; and displaying the three-dimensional image.
Image sensor read window adjustment for multi-camera array tolerance
Multiple cameras are arranged in an array at a pitch, roll, and yaw that allow the cameras to have adjacent fields of view such that each camera is pointed inward relative to the array. The read window of an image sensor of each camera in a multi-camera array can be adjusted to minimize the overlap between adjacent fields of view, to maximize the correlation within the overlapping portions of the fields of view, and to correct for manufacturing and assembly tolerances. Images from cameras in a multi-camera array with adjacent fields of view can be manipulated using low-power warping and cropping techniques, and can be taped together to form a final image.
Method for providing fragment-based multimedia streaming service and device for same, and method for receiving fragment-based multimedia streaming service and device for same
Provided are method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving a multimedia streaming service via a network. The method of providing a multimedia streaming service includes: dividing encoded data of a video including at least one of a two-dimensional (2D) video and a three-dimensional (3D) video into fragments; determining at least one of 3D signaling information for each fragment and relationship information to be used when the video refers to other videos; and continuously transmitting the fragments including the property information regarding the fragments and encoded video data.
Image processing device, imaging device, image processing method, and computer readable medium
There is provided an image processing device, includes: an expansion amount decision section that, for each target pixel for image processing in a first image and a second image, decides on an expansion amount of parallax according to parallax; a coefficient decision section that, for each target pixel for image processing in the first image and the second image, decides on a parallax conversion coefficient for converting the parallax into expanded parallax based on the expansion amount decided by the expansion amount decision section; an image processing section that performs processing on the target pixels to expand parallax based on the parallax conversion coefficient decided by the coefficient decision section; a generation section that generates a first display image based on an image signal, and generates a second display image for use in focus verification based on the first image and the second image.
Image processing device, imaging device, image processing method, and computer readable medium
An image processing device includes: a coefficient decision section that, for each of target pixels in a first image and a second image, decides on a parallax conversion coefficient to convert a parallax computed by a parallax computation section into a parallax visually confirmable that the first image and the second image are within the first parallax range in cases determined by a first determination section to be within the first parallax range, and that decides on a parallax conversion coefficient to convert the parallax into a parallax visually confirmable that the first image and the second image are outside the first parallax range in cases determined by the first determination section to be outside the first parallax range; and an image processing section that performs image processing on the target pixels based on the parallax conversion coefficient decided by the coefficient decision section.
Enhanced image display in head-mounted displays
Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, implementing and using techniques for projecting a source image in a head-mounted display apparatus having a left and a right display for projecting a left and right images viewable by the left and right eyes, respectively, of a user. Source image data is received. The source image has right, left, top, and bottom edges. The source image data is processed to generate left image data for the left display and right image data for the right display. The left image data includes the left edge, but not the right edge, of the source image and the right image data includes the right edge, but not the left edge, of the source image. The right image data is presented on the right display and the left image data is presented on the left display.
Video encoding/decoding methods, corresponding computer programs and video encoding/decoding devices
A method for encoding an interlaced video comprising a sequence of alternating TOP and BOT fields is disclosed. The method for encoding comprises: producing a sequence of frames, each frame being determined from at least two consecutive fields, each field forming a rectangular region of the frame, encoding each frame of the sequence to produce an encoded video of the sequence of frames.
Transmitter and receiver for transmitting and receiving multimedia content, and reproduction method therefor
A method and apparatus for reproducing a multimedia content are provided. The apparatus includes: a receiver which is configured to receive, through different paths, a first signal including a left-side image and a first synchronization information item, and a second signal including a right-side image and a second synchronization information item; and a signal processor which is configured to synchronize and reproduce the left-side image and the right-side image using the first synchronization information item and the second synchronization information item.
Method of three-dimensional and multiview video coding using a disparity vector
A method and apparatus for a three-dimensional or multi-view video encoding or decoding system are disclosed, where a three-dimensional coding tool relying on a disparity vector are adaptively applied depending on whether the inter-view reference picture pointed by the disparity vector is in the reference list associated with the current slice. The three-dimensional coding tool may correspond to the Inter-View Motion Prediction (IVMP) or View Synthesis Prediction (VSP). If the inter-view reference picture pointed by the DV is not in the current reference list associated with the current slice, the selected three-dimensional coding tool is disabled for the current block. If the inter-view reference picture pointed by the DV is in the current reference list associated with the current slice, the selected three-dimensional coding tool can be applied to the current block.
Anaglyph ghost cancellation
Ghosting of images can be produced by the use anaglyph techniques to produce stereoscopic images. Ghost effects can be produced when filtering is applied to images by displays such as televisions or monitors. Techniques and apparatus are described for reducing or cancelling ghost effects. Anaglyph ghost reduction information can be produced to reduce or cancel ghost effects.
