Combined bi-predictive merging candidates for 3D video coding
A video coder generates a list of merging candidates for coding a video block of the 3D video. A maximum number of merging candidates in the list of merging candidates may be equal to 6. As part of generating the list of merging candidates, the video coder determines whether a number of merging candidates in the list of merging candidates is less than 5. If so, the video coder derives one or more combined bi-predictive merging candidates. The video coder includes the one or more combined bi-predictive merging candidates in the list of merging candidates.
Video frame processing method
A video frame processing method, which comprises: (a) capturing at least two video frames via a multi-view camera system comprising a plurality of cameras; (b) recording timestamps for each the video frame; (c) determining a major camera and a first sub camera out of the multi-view camera system, based on the timestamps, wherein the major camera captures a major video sequence comprising at least one major video frame, the first sub camera captures a video sequence of first view comprising at least one video frame of first view; (d) generating a first reference video frame of first view according to one first reference major video frame of the major video frames, which is at a reference timestamp corresponding to the first reference video frame of first view, and according to at least one the video frame of first view surrounding the reference timestamp; and (e) generating a multi-view video sequence comprising a first multi-view video frame, wherein the first multi-view video frame is generated based on the first reference video frame of first view and the first reference major video frame.
Imaging apparatus, photographing guide displaying method for imaging apparatus, and non-transitory computer readable medium
A digital camera includes an image sensor unit, a display that displays an image photographed by the image sensor unit, and a photographing guide generating unit that displays a photographing guide on the display when the image sensor unit obtains a stereo image or a panoramic image. The photographing guide generating unit displays, on the display as the photographing guide, an aiming mark that displays a fixed point positioned substantially at the center of the display and a guide mark that is a fixed point in the image photographed by the image sensor unit and has a length necessary for the stereo image or the panoramic image in a moving direction of the digital camera on a screen. Then, it is possible to provide an imaging apparatus capable of stably moving the imaging apparatus upon photographing a panoramic picture.
Imaging device and shading correction method
An image pick apparatus includes: an imaging element that includes a first pixel group and a second pixel group that respectively photo-electrically converts luminous fluxes that pass through different areas of a single imaging optical system, generates a first image formed by an output value of the first pixel group and a second image formed by an output value of the second pixel group, and is built therein with a pixel addition unit that adds a pixel value of the first pixel group and a pixel value of the second pixel group to generate a two-dimensional image; and an image processing section that matches a shading shape of the first image and a shading shape of the second image with a shading shape of the two-dimensional image by calculating correction coefficients stored in a memory for the output values of the first pixel group and the second pixel group.
Selecting camera pairs for stereoscopic imaging
An example method involves: (a) determining an indication of distance to an object in a scene, wherein the computing device comprises three or more image-capture devices that provide two or more baselines for stereoscopic imaging, wherein at least two pairs of image-capture devices from the three or more image-capture devices are operable for stereoscopic imaging, wherein each pair provides one of the baselines, and wherein a first of the baselines is non-parallel to a second of the baselines, (b) selecting, by the computing device, a first pair from the at least two pairs of image-capture devices, wherein the first pair is selected based on the indication of distance and the baseline provided by the first pair, and (c) operating the first pair of image-capture devices to capture stereoscopic image data.
