Present invention provided system and method for securing an axe head to an axe handle whereby the system utilizes fastening spring pins to secure the axe head to the axe handle.

Tools and other devices incorporating cutting chains are disclosed. In some examples, a knife comprises a chain of cutting links positioned along a chain path around a saw bar having a rail, wherein each of the cutting links comprises a groove such that the cutting links straddle the rail of the saw bar. In some examples, a knife comprises a chain of cutting links and a plurality of motors for driving the chain of cutting links. In some examples, a knife comprises a chain of cutting links driven along a blunt edge of the knife. In other examples, the tool is an axe, hatchet, or other device.

The invention is directed to a weapon or tool head that has an appearance that mimics chipped stone weapon- or tool heads used in prehistory and history. The weapon or tool head has an outer body portion having the desired “ancient” appearance and a hard insert is provided with at least one sharp edge exposed for use, the latter providing modern performance characteristics to the weapon or tool.

A hammer is provided that includes a handle, a head, a striking insert, and a claw. The hammer provides for a head with a keyed hole to couple to a keyed projection on a striking insert. For example, the striking insert and the claw comprise one material, and the handle and the head comprise another material. In some embodiments, a slotted punch with a magnetic retainer creates a bore through the face of the head and the striking insert to support a fastener (e.g., a nail) within the head.

A tool includes a tool head with a utilization surface. The tool also includes a counter device responding to an impact applied to the utilization surface. The counter device has a memory, a microcontroller controlling operation of the counter device, an indicator, and an energizer connected to the microcontroller, which in response to the impact applied to the utilization surface, produces an electric current energizing the counter device to make a modification in the memory and provide information about the cumulative count of impacts in the memory via the indicator to a user.

Compact hand axe that can chop along multiple axes is disclosed. While utilizing the tool in the hand axe configuration the forward-facing, mid-grip trigger allows for axial rotation to occurs in user's hand around the middle finger, enabling it to achieve a far greater edge velocity/impact than would ordinarily be expected from a blade of this length. Furthermore, working in conjunction with the channeled mounting wedge, the trigger also enables the present hand axe to be mounted securely to a haft of the users choosing so that the tool's broad front edge can provide the functional yield of a full-size, dedicated axe.
